  1. Yes..... not his first . We don't have a pump guy here anymore. The go to guy in my area here passed away a little while back, and I don't think the Mack dealer in Allentown has the pump shop anymore.

And taking their foot off the gas peddle is NOT an option.
  3. No goats 🦌 were harmed in the making of the videos (lol) I think Fred may have played us all a little here (in a good way) Seems like this wasn't the first time he's had a governor apart. Great stuff no matter. Like I said before, fewer and fewer people are capable of making such repairs. Thanks for sharing and explaining.

Volvo should make rainbow colored sealant. Seems like they can get toothpaste in a tube like that. So RTV shouldn't be too difficult 😁

Yes Bob....they believe the head should be in pristine condition for when the hormone therapy or anti depressant meds come into the picture. There's a brief overlap between a kid on a bike and the meds in that state.
  7. I'm grasp'n at straws here (lol) Just sometimes easy stuff gets overlooked . I've seen trucks with the puff limiter disconnected do this. Maybe it's because of some other underlying issue in the governor, but it'll do it. Then once it starts, and you get bounced around because of it, it amplifies it all. These things are old, who knows what could be worn by now, and guys familiar with them to make a repair are becoming a scarcity .
  8. Lever's not on backwards ? Should be going to the spring part (break) at full throttle .
  9. Is the puff limiter by any chance disconnected ?
  10. The throttle shaft where it comes out of the governor. There's a lever ( serrated to go on the shaft and often has a 1/4" pinch bolt ) it has a spring in it that is strong enough to move the throttle shaft, but when the shaft rotates it's full travel the lever " breaks " so you're not still twisting the shaft. It's made with a spring to buffer that point of full throttle and linkage travel.
  11. I'm convinced they check to see about getting every drop of warranty they know is a slam dunk. Then if your truck happens to get fixed yaaaay. Even a good technician that may very well know what's wrong, if they don't know how to get paid for it. Good luck. F is correct, but meanwhile the truck sits, insured, licensed, missing revenue, but the dealer gets paid. It's a F@$*ing joke.
  12. I'd expect they'd find a crack in the hood..... due to driving it into the building. This is getting more and more common. Don't know what's wrong or how to get warranty to cover it ? Just hand the customer a bill, then say they don't have to put up with you treating them that way. If the EGR cooler was bad ? I'd expect there very well could be coolant in the DPF.
  13. Sorry to read this Joey. One of the things that sucks about getting older is we all experience this.....as dumb as it sounds , if we're lucky maybe a couple times. For what it's worth to ya ? most guys that have an effect on us, by just being themselves, never know just how much they did .
  14. Last I read wasn't the Scania something like 732 HP.
  15. You do know they're a cousin to the E9
  16. One of these pictures of her is going to have the bag of Doritos in the frame sooner or later.
  17. The plastic oil pan isn't a bad idea. At least not here where I live. FYI that one and done plug in the bottom of it ?? that's the place to drain it. If someone gets the bright idea to drain it out the threaded plug in the side of the plastic pan while it's hot..... DON'T ( ask me how I know ) 😂 MX isn't a bad engine and in some ways reminds me of maybe something like where a grey engine might have been by now. The support on the MX is actually worse than the support on a grey engine now in my opinion.
  18. You have very good ability to know what makes a good picture Vlad, interesting things most of us guys would never see any other way than your pictures. Certainly would be looking at those things if I were there . Thanks
  19. Yes yes.... and able to travel hundreds if not thousands of miles by foot.... and know the way. No one seems to notice that part either.
  20. Might still be the most powerful V8 that actually runs and has a life. You know the chinese one is reverse engineered .
  21. That LTL is a mixed bag of Ford parts. Tiny Hendrickson suspension on the cut off too, with U bolts. I guess if it was a farm truck it would be ok. I kinda like it in some ways. Cab's way newer than that hood. That one step looks to be Peterbilt. Some interesting trucks there .
  22. The front of that is in pretty nice shape. That has an equally impressive stretch job on the frame.
  23. Solar .... duh
  24. How about on the page ? there's a '78 that's interesting too.
