  1. I guess that it depends on the size/type of those 20 bombs. Twenty MOAB's might well make a good impression.
  2. The red coolant is sold in both full strength and 50/50 premix. The Cat in my International ran that red "OAT" ELC coolant from the factory and I just stuck with it. That is one thing I don't miss is finding red coolant when I was off in the sticks or sometimes even in town. I got to where I carried about 4 or five gallons mixed up with me for that reason. My Mack had green until The new radiator a month or two back, now its pink. Napa penray coolant, same formula as green with the sca's already in it. The pink penray can mix with green but that would make an ugly color in there. I never understood the extended life coolant anyway, what super lucky guy runs 4 or 5 hundred thousand miles without a breakdown that either causes or requires coolant drained out.
  3. Is the Isuzu van part of the same company as the wrecker he advertises for, or he just getting a really great discount. That's probably as fast as that fire truck has ever gone, doing it backwards to boot. I usually don't pay a lot of mind to some of the weeks pictures, but MERCY, that brunette..
  4. Since Obama and his flock have been working on this Asian trade pact, I suspect even more auto production will go over there, and those cars will come back into this country with even more favorable tax and tariff conditions than past asian models.
  5. Not a road tractor, but the kt1150 was used in the old red and yellow Versatile 1150. Later as a Designation 6 Model and Ford Versatile it was an 1156. One in a barn about 7 miles up the road.
  6. I haven't seen an obama button since 08 or 09 around here. But I couple of months ago I noticed a sprinkling of bumper stickers for she whose name must not be spoken.
  7. They were partially correct. "Those who can swim" are on the streets of Miami and New York
  8. It seems like politicians on both sides have been drinking the Kool-Aid. I kinda doubt if there would ever be a reversal of existing laws, but the slowing of emissions "progress" is probably still very possible. I haven't read much about the UN treaty thing, but signing a document to cooperate with other countries who couldn't care less about our economy and growth cause they are in the economic gutter isn't such a hot idea.
  9. So nice it looks like it's bustin out! :0
  10. When I read this post it reminded me of something I saw just this morning. On my way to the port of catoosa I went by the Bruckner dealership in Tulsa, and they had a daycab Volvo hooked up to a belly dump rock trailer. It looked pretty dumb. That angular cab is more fitting for highway heroes in flip flops than construction and vocational guys.
  11. Was over to Grandma's tonight to take the girls "trick or treating." I should have pulled a couple of pictures out to scan off. There are several good ones like when the last TD was traded for the second cat. Both dozers on lowboys behind the Mack move trucks. And my favorite, plowing with them and an Oliver at plow time the first year they decided to farm with them as well. The plows with added on bottoms look strange.
  12. Looks gorgeous. I have a soft spot for 50s Cats and IH TD's cause my Grandpa and great uncle ran those two varieties.
  13. Pretty cool video of "d" door. I'm glad what I do doesn't involve any indoor driving, and so are the buildings.
  14. The cream colored truck looks like a really long setup for the east-northeast area. I guess the setback axle would help some. Was the water pipe an artesian well?
  15. The yellow thing is a tender box for a John Deere air drill, I never thought there was any fields big enough for air drills and larger stuff like we have out on the plains, but then again I've never gone that far east.
  16. That lip looks easy to fix, but what I'm in to is that Chevy....
  17. Once you find the thread size, buy an uncharged filter and refill the system with the pink pen ray type napa coolant. It is precharged to correct sca levels, no guesswork. It is an ethelene glycol formula like the green stuff so it will be compatible with all your existing seals and orings. The extended life red is usually an organic acid type propelyne glycol that won't be as friendly to all existing seals and orings assuming they've been ran with green coolant all these years. I've been through all that with a c12 cat that had always had elc. After new water pump and radiator were installed, I flushed it real good and switched to green for the sake of better availability. The green got my oil cooler seals. After oil cooler was corrected, all was great, but man what a pain.
  18. When you get a chance, take the front wheel that hit the hole off of the truck. Check the wheel for cracks around the bolt holes. While the wheel is off, check out the hub for end play and the tierod head for slack. May all be fine, but that would rule out most of the major stuff. Also i guess it could have broke a belt in the steer tire.
  19. By the way you describe it, it sounds like the troubles may be in the rear end and not the transmission. I had many of the same problems you have in a previous truck, and the gear in the front rear carrier had 2 broken teeth. Rear problems can move up the driveline and pretend to be a trans problem.
  20. I haven't seen that yet when I ordered things online. What site was that from? I wonder how the liberal shipping differs from standard shipping. Does the driver wear even shorter shorts due to rising temperatures? If the climate is of such great concern to UPS, why don't they slow their drivers down to save fuel. Those trucks must have a 2 position throttle, wide open and off. On a side note: The Fed-Ex delivery guy has been driving a UHaul van lately. Before that it was an unmarked hi-cube van. Is Fed-ex going broke or something?
  21. the battery one is an extra switch for power direct from the battery, regardless of key position.
  22. It is an accessory switch that is powered with the key on and off when its off.
  23. Replaced radiator and upper and lower hoses in the lot, otherwise would have had to towed it home. It really wasn't a hard job.
