  3. That airfoil kit matches in pretty well And the smarter Mack blokes will know for certain but the taper on tje chassis rail towards the back axles to me is unusual Paul
  4. Yeah I do But the E9 is not a patch on the Scania for longevity and reliability Paul
  5. It sure is, the bonnet (hood for you blokes) looked pretty long in the end I think the dog got there half a hour before the driver Paul
  6. Have not heard a bad report ever about a Scania V8 And when I say ever I mean ever, they have a really good reputation You want a million mile plus V8 motor that gives no trouble I think Scania would win hands down Paul
  7. Wow, thats some serious looking bling you have there Im glad your feeling much better about this machine shop When I must send work out to be done, having that feeling of confidence in the ability of the people doing the job is so important to me Paul
  8. Sounds like a vacuum leak Get some rubber hose and put one end in your ear and run around the inlet manifold and carby with the motor running Should be able to hear a vacuum leak pretty easy Or get some WD 40 or aero start and with it running carefully squirt some around the joints of the inlet manifold, if the revs change your in the area of the leak Or maybe Im full of crap and completely wrong but these are cheap and simple things to try Paul
  9. Im gunna have to get a map out to work out were you are Vlad Geography of that part of the world isn't any good in my brain I have read some books of truck drivers crossing from Europe to the middle East and beyond And even 50 years ago the queues were long and bribes were steep for trucks Thanks for the story and photos Paul
  10. Yes you can get them, Jacobs no longer make them However Pacbrake make new Jacobs style kits for the E6 These as far as I know are the same or similar to the Jacobs brake and definitely not even close to the Dynatard in design Pretty sure no push rodsare involved in the kit Do some googling, they are pretty easy to find Paul
  11. Mothers day ???, aren't you a week early, mothers this weekend coming in my part of the world Paul

  15. Thats a red gum, must be at a guess a few hundred years old Very dence and very heavy hardwood, and hard is a under statement Iron bark or box iron bark is even harder and grows even slower Red gum grows were it floods every year or two and box were it floods every 10 years The green movement have just about shut all the saw mills down which makes this a very rare find today Paul
  16. Like, look at that sky, Australia is truely the greatest place on earth Makes sort humble Paul
  17. Well you jokers did what ever you did I got a new King And I picked up a fresh stick for my best mate
  18. Dunno about all of this is better than that type of deal I feel more seals are damaged by people not keeping the hub square to the axle when sliding the hub back on than any wear and tare Or people not cleaning the hub out properly before driving the new seal home and seal not been able to sit square afterwards Both these types of seals work fine for many 100s of thousands of km if fitted properly and the breathers kept clean Paul
  19. I have run both types of seals and find they both work okay Most times I get wheel seals leaking the breather is blocked As the oil heats it is forced out Anyway, the grit guard works fine, I was bad and probably should be sent to the naughty corner I heat the grit guard in the Princesses oven and bung heaps of loctite bearing retainer on the hub and tap the hot grit guard on gently Never new there was a proper tool If your a rough bastard like me just little love taps keeping really square seams to work But now I know theresa proper tool I'm gunna keep a eye out for it Paul
  20. Maybe of some help
  21. I reckon that was used in a broucher, I seem to recall seeing it before on here Paul
  22. To be honest I don't even ask for a price A new Chinese tyre and rim for a spider (dayton) are about 300 bucks including tax All I gotta do is pop the on the spider They are cheap, a lot cheaper than a tube, tyre amd rust band and give less trouble and last longer Paul
