  3. Well I have no idea were NC is, I could Google it but a little mystery is good in life Should sell fairly easy been that neat Good luck with the sale, I don't sell anything, I'm gunna be one of those blokes when they have a clearing sale after I'm dead that everyone scratches their head about and the crap I have collected Paul
  4. Well I can honestly say you aren't the first bloke to have life get in the way of a good plan Next thing I woke up, 30 years of marriage, a few farms later, milked some cows, burnt some sugar cane, made some hay, had a family driven shitty old Mack all over this wide brown land pulling road trains, managed power plants and the list goes on And all would you believe in the blink of a eye ha ha ha Don't worry smoothy, life gets bloody crazy for a while yet So my 2 cents of advice, enjoy the family, I mean really take time to enjoy family life as the kids are teenagers in a blink of an eye and hate their parents until they are 25 or there abouts Oh and the Mack is as cool as all get out!!! And congratulations on the bub and fresh almost new Mack, the 80's was only yesterday after all after all that I still have the Mack and the bride, my Dad that's in one of these photos not so, my niece, the little girl in the pink jumper is all grown up Paul

  8. I think your right Jo Jo People need to compare apples with apples They are a basic bare bones poverty pack motor made more short haul around type delivery type of deal I think they performed extremely well at this type of work Paul

  10. I dunno how I made it this far with out this useful advice Bugger me I'm a looser, this bloke has it all going on Paul
  11. 3208 was available in just about everything in Australia I think they were okay for what they were and petrol motors they replaced Even the 555 was good if you compare it to the petrol V8's it replaced Ford tractors were had no liners in their diesel motors on 3000 - 5000 models As Geoff has already said, they are just like a car engine Brocky Ford Louisville trucks had them, even smaller Louisville semi trailers had them They went okay and held their own We need to remember back when these and the 555 were been sold in the U.S. the highway limit was 55 MPH and Australia it was 80 km/h for trucks so a lot less power was required Paul
  12. The wrong pinion on the starter motor The wrong clearance on the starter motor pinion to ring gear Ring gear is badly damaged in one spot and this binds on the pinion Starter shaft has no grease on it from new and is binding on the shaft Paul

  16. I bought Federal truck decades ago, met the Princess, told her I was busy fixing my old truck up and didn't have time for women and so on That lasted about 2 nights, I was back knocking on her front door and she greated me with "so the trucks finished ?" Well we were married 6 months later, bought a dairy farm, bought other trucks bought a sugar cane farm at the other end of Australia raised a boy, back farming still Still have that first truck, still haven't got much further and still have the Princess that sorta talks to me most of the time 🤣 Paul

  19. There weren't many of these PowerWagons in Australia My brother bought one years ago after I showed him some, he never new about the PowerWagon until then, and put it in the shed to fix one day I doubt that day will ever arrive

  21. Brocky the salt flat racing isnt very widely known about in Australia We have huge salt flats in South Australia that cover at guess many millions of acres The middle of Lake Eyre is something like 30 - 50 feet bellow see level Lake Eyre is 2.3 million acres on its own Lake Gardiner is 1.1 million acres Lake Eyre is circled in red and Lake Gardiner is circled in green Paul
  22. Don't be to hard on him or her, we all reckon we are fairly smart as no doubt did the fella the welded all that on there Paul
  23. Could always just pull a few leafs out of the spring packs and lower the air pressure I'm just lowering the tyre pressure will give some pretty substantial changes Looks like your already on tubeless tyres so 50 - 55 psi is not a problem for running bob tail Paul
