  1. Ok has been a few weeks since a update Have been busy but the videos are falling behind a bit so sorry about that but here is the latest offering of dribble from me seeya Paul
  2. Choc's the bloke featured in this story would be one of Australia's better known sign writers I have known him for some time my self and even though he would be at the top of tree with the trade he ply's he isnt a wanker He has always taken the time to talk to me and make me feel welcome when I call in (Choc's and Ros live at the other end of this wide brown land ) Anyway have a read and well done Choc's Paul https://www.ownerdriver.com.au/industry-news/1710/lines-scrolls-and-signs-of-the-times some more http://www.haymansigns.com.au/index.html
  3. Well something for me to do maybe since Im no longer farming Not a long plane ride either Paul
  4. how can a truck thats new do less damage to our roads than one thats over 15 years old Thats what the government are saying by saying they can cart more weight And what about the mass management BS, you do this crappy course and you can cart more weight do this other fatigue management course and you can drive more hours It's still the same truck and the same driver The whole things a crock to squeeze out the little guy and support the big guy who already operates out side the rules with the governments blessings Tiz a bloody disgrace Paul
  5. Swish man I dont doubt any of that at all But he still had a go and I admire anyone that is prepared to put it all the line to have ago Paul
  6. Linfox has a lot of haters out there because of his size operation I have a lot of respect for him, he started with nothing driving one truck himself and I reckon he would be the biggest in Australia now Paul
  7. bugger me this whole thing appears a joke from the outside, but it is good to see that this style of constant cock ups arent restricted just the Australian government ! It appears governments the world over are pretty good at making a absolute mess of the simplest of things lucky for us they dont do anything important other than running our respective countries Paul
  8. Note to the design team of the new all Mack, notice no poxy mirrors mounted in the middle of the bonnet And yes KS the Western Star is a pretty sexy looking jigger in the land down under My only dealings with Penske were woeful and that was with its spare parts people in Townsville and that on its own would stop me ever buy a Western Star or a Detroit diesel Paul
  9. I wonder if they will have a RHD version of the stand up cab ??? I think that with the Trident bonnet would be a good seller out here but would need the shorter bunk for B double work maybe
  10. A floating slab has layers of reo not just the lower layer like a normal slab A normal slab the reo only stops the slab flexing one way and floating slab has reo top and bottom to stop the slab flexing both ways so it can then float as the ground moves Paul
  11. Very strange how in America a lot of people tie re bar together to make mesh, I have never seen that done out here 6 inches is very thick I would have thought On the farm I grew up on we had a cement pad over 100' square I think around a 120' or 130' and it was to screw the semi's around on for loading spuds (potato's) and it was only 3 inches thick and never fell apart and it was in very high rainfall area 80 plus inches a year so we couldnt use gravel Good luck with it Paul
  12. I must confess now that I under stand the stupid mirrors hanging of the bonnet (hood for you yanks) are optional it has improved I also if with a little more thought could the same image be displayed to the driver thru a projected image on the windscreen from wide view cameras mounted discreetly After seeing the internals of the sleeper and cab, the interior now has my vote except maybe for the steering wheel I also wonder how it would look done up like a dunny truck as call it, like the older New England trucks I have seen on here with scroll work etc as a lot if not not almost all owner drivers in Australia still seem to scroll work done It might look deep dark and mysterious in mat black but what about some high gloss colours ???? KS got any photo's pf it in a customers custom paint job ?? I must be getting old Im warming up to it already, I wonder if it was like this when the R model was first released to replace the B model ?? Paul
  13. no doubt doing something like that he has his finger on the pulse of all things in the truck world Paul
  14. Brocky the IH and Chrysler relation ship went a lot further than most realize out here A lot of Chrysler motors were cast in the IH foundry at Geelong and as such have a IH logo cast into the Chrysler block and no doubt other things as well Things were a lot different back then in Australia as no doubt it was in the US as well, before the days of cheap imports the demand was so great for a lot of products that there was waiting lists, Holden the all Australian car had three shifts going just to try and keep up My the world has changed since then Paul
  15. he might be recovering from the shock of the all new Mack LOL Seriously though I do hope all is good with him Paul
  16. OK peoples the next lot of dribble is ready for your viewing pleasure Paul
  17. well I like my crumple zone out the front , dont need a huge big thing but feels better to have something rather than nothing A tip turbine coolpowered motor 450 hp 2000 ft pounds like my Mack 12 speed OD but go a bit newer and do away with the second stick 58's in the arse end work a treat camel back I like AC would be handy double rails Spider wheels not a lot of bling And air start
  18. Wow I have had a quick glance at this thread before but that pin is pretty cool looking thing to me And welcome to the forum aabeck Paul
  19. how cool is that V 12, I cant think of what they are Lincoln or some such thing , there's one a dragster at our local radiator place 1 1/2 hours from the farm and a whole heap of other cool stuff Paul
  20. I think the same crew the said the Edsel was the duck guts put them poxy mirrors on the bonnet Talk about ugly, just more shit to see around, FFS a farm tractor has less crap than that out the front even with a loader and three bales of hay on the forks I think Swish has the answer send the design crew back to ABBA land, maybe give them a job checking the parking lights in Volvo cars Paul
  21. thats a good old photo Swish man , dont think I have seen that one before thanks for sharing, I do like the old S model, dont think I could afford a door handle for one these days, seems every joker likes them almost as much as D5N Dodges with a 6V53 Paul
  22. I know nothing about this at all, but according to Swishy a person much wiser than my self, he reckons grease them when they are on a jack with no weight on them at all and cycle it from side to side I think the idea is this allows the grease into the bits that it cant get to with weight of the truck on it Paul
  23. Yes mate, low ratio for heavy loads was 5.73 when new I think its 5.29 ?? now Paul
