  1. I tried to sell her, no one wanted her. So I had to pay a divorce attorney, some credit card companies and other various collection-type agencies a little under $20,000 to get rid of her. The car I seem to remember getting $2500 for. It was in very good condition, with a little over 80K on the clock when I sold it.
  2. I had a 1996 SL-1 (4-door) 4cyl/automagic. First wife and I bought it used. I can't remember how many miles were on it, but we got it from the Saturn dealer that sold it new, and they had all the maintenance records. Aside from the typical new-car bugs that needed to be worked out, the only issue was some kind of valve in the tranny that it needs to go into reverse. The previous owner had to have it replaced once (warranty) and I had to have it done once- at about 475 miles over warranty. I asked them about taking care of it figuring I would get told to go pound sand but was delighted when they didn't even argue. Even gave the wife one of the loaners for the day. No other major issues that I can think of other than the road noise was a little loud inside. I remeber it to be a very good car and it got decent mileage. I had to sell it though when I fired the first wife. It was titled to me and my father- when she left, she took the car but of course not the payment book. She returned it in short order when I sent her the payment book in the mail. So I had to sell it.
  3. I see you were on I-78, I'm at exit 67 in Pa. (Bethlehem/Hellertown.) Next time you pass through ya gotta give a blast on the air horn!
  4. ECD pulling for you and your Diesel. Listen to Yarnall, he's a Vet.......And like OD said, there is no shame in crying. Hoping for a good outcome, but hoping for courage for you too if "that" decision has to be made.
  5. Busier than a one-legged man in an ass-kicking contest?
  6. Get him into the tub in cool water. Are there any 24-Hour vets in your area you could call or take him to???
  7. They don't currently own anything, just big Mack fans. But they know a LOT of Mack owners/drivers. Post some more pics!!! CHEERS!
  8. Did you see my mates Darren and Joff vanEk???
  9. When you are talking engines with a Cat, Cummapart or god forbid a rabid green leaker idiot and you mention the words "Mack Constant Torque" they just nod their heads politely but have absolutely zero effing clue what you're talking about......LOL
  10. I see he couldn't find any of the higher gears as he blew your doors off.......Was probably being a nice guy, didn't want to embarrass you too badly. He still could have blown your doors off while dragging 90,000 behind him..........
  11. If it's in as good as condition as they say that it's in and is legitimate......I bet it could go for quarter to half a million at least. I have seen ones with more mileage go for quarter million on the Barrett-Jackson Auction.
  12. http://autos.yahoo.com/blogs/motoramic/rare-mustang-heads-to-auction-after-decades-spent-gathering-dust--only-8-000-miles-150351958.html?soc_src=mediacontentsharebuttons This was just posted earlier today, came across it on a friend's Facebook page.
  13. The Shelby's were nice. But the one that absolutely, positively takes my breath away is the 1969 429 Boss Mustang, in it's unmolested and all original factory glory. This is the one lady that I would leave my wife for.......But I will never know as I will most likely never hit the powerball.
  14. Check yer PM's.....If this keeps up yer gonna have to pay me as a shipping broker!!!! LOL
  15. Here is a 1968 EXP500 Shelby Mustang, extremely rare. Owned by a gentleman here in Eastern Pennsylvania.
  16. Many GT350, GT500 and several other Mustangs were modified by Carroll Shelby and Company, especially in the late 1960's and early 1970's. My father used to tell stories of how they would rent them from the Hertz place in Philly on a Friday afternoon and go clean house at the local drag strips on Friday night and Saturday afternoons. There were even stories of how they would be returned to Hertz on Monday mornings with burn marks under the carpets where temporary roll cages were welded in and then cut back out, but Dad said he never saw that stunt pulled off.
  17. Did JC Taylor give you a specific reason why? Just curious.
  18. For $6900 it better be in pristine shape.........From the wording of the description I dont think the guy knows everything there is to know about the truck, doesn't make him a bad guy, just not informed.
  19. In the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, if the vehicle is registered, tagged and insured as an antique vehicle, it MAY NOT ACT WITHIN COMMERCE, PERIOD. Additionally, many insurance companies have stipulations in their policies that do not allow loads to be carried. I recently heard that insurance companies are no longer allowing trailers to be pulled by antique road tractors, but I cannot confirm this- perhaps someone else can?? You need to contact the State of Mass. and find out how they do things, as well as your insurance carrier. Either that or keep your current insurance and start telling your family and friends to start ponying up some more coin when you do favors for them.
  20. That was an Australian U-Model
  21. Real trucks have DUAL spark plugs!!!!
  22. I have a lot of time with Allison HT740's which are bombproof, as well as the newer 4000 "world series" trannies with the integral hydraulic retarder. This is a really nice feature, however it tends to heat up the ATF really fast- especially if you do a lot of start-stop city driving or have a PTO- many residential trash collectors are now doing away with their integral retarders in favor of Jakes or even Telma retarders. If you do a LOT of local driving, it might be something you want to seriously think about. But if you do more road work than local work, stick with the stick.
  23. Working your way through Nun College like those Tilted Kilt and Hooters girls are ya???
