  1. Is this the seat that kinda pivots at your lower back? If so I like them. Less up and down movement and it holds you better than the bostrom did. What is the price on them new

  8. My .02 You have to hold the housing still when you remove the bolts that hold the arm to the trunnion. If you don't some times the diff will spring back when all tension is removed. Then your fighting bolting up and locating the new arm.
  9. Figures......never happens when you want it to...
  10. Another thought... If you pull the air cleaner out, have someone rev the engine and listen to the sound as the revs fall. We had a old r model that had a bad cam and you could hear the slight intermittent miss. That truck also backfired sometimes..
  11. Just throwing this out there...I had a backfire issue in a cat motor a day after an injector cup failed. Cups faild ,Filled coolant with fuel and drove 150 miles to a dealer. new cups installed next day, ran fine bob tail, idled fine...I hooked up to trailer and as soon as I got up to about 45mph it started to back fire badly...fire out the stack bad.... Limped 5 miles back to dealer and they did an injector cut out test. Fount 2 bad injectors and a bad jake solenoid. they think the water in the fuel was part to blame and the backfiring killed the jake. Almost sounds like an injector is fireing out of time or fuel is lighting off in the exhaust. If its a electrical issue that will be hard to find unless you can read and record the engine data logs in real time...
  12. Worn bearings... Won't know untill it's taken apart...
  13. contact Ray (MACK MHe9) he moves lots of stuff for us board members. He has a step deck.
  14. N&W 1218 the Y class mallet was slightly more powerful than the big boys. But the big boys had more speed and were more popular.
  15. Just look at the pic someone used for the R model that does not do it justice. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mack_R_series on a side note its been 10 years that the last standard "R" has been built. it will soon be the next "b" model ;(
  16. yea it was cool to meet them last night. I Spoke with a tuskeege airman. shook hands of most of the vets. one family was telling me that their dad had recently showed them a picture he took of a concentration camp that he helped liberate. She Said the pic showed the Jews just standing at the fence looking for help. He had never shared that photo with his family until about a year ago.
  17. Anyone been to one of these events? For those that dont know there is a fairly new WWII memorial in D.C. The Honor flight group sets up trips all across the US to send WWII vets to see the memorial. They put on a big show for the old guys and if anything lets them know that people still care about their dedicated service. I Went to one last night in Chicago and it was pretty cool to see all the people that come out to support the WWII vets. Got to meet a tuskegee airman and a family that was waiting for there grandfather to return on the flight. got to talking and they showed me a pic he had saved when he liberated a concentration camp. it was very touching to the hart to see how patriotic some people can be. I first heard about it eary this year when my grandfather signed up. Sadly he passed away before he could make the trip. Its Worth checking out.... http://www.honorflight.org/ http://www.honorflightchicago.org/
  18. it might be a 300"L" (low rpm motor) cuts about 300 RPM off the normal 2100 max rpm...
  19. Also how about a pic of the gasket and the top of the block bottom of head...it may help if we can see the parts...
  20. Staxx ... Am I correct in saying the head gasket seals to the bottom of the head and top of fire rings?. And does the e6 have a spec for the liner height? If the liners were to low or bad fire rings the water can flow right in..I know he did not mess with liners but they may be out of spec? ..it's been about 6 years sence I had a head off...and don't have my book here...
  21. Did u models have an option for air ride cabs?
  22. Let me know if you find a boot. I need one just for the window. I hear you can get stuff from an rv store that will work but have not shopped around yet...
