  1. Here are the numbers off the can I bought.Delfleet Mid Tier Oem code10340 PPG Green Metallic. I have seen enough B models to know this. There is more than one shade of green Paint
  2. I took a piece of the door off and went to my local PPg refinish center and they were able to come up with a color that is dead on it!
  3. I bought a paint gun and a quart of Mack green paint from the PPG color wheel. Iam still in the process of cleaning and stripping off the red from the inside. The sad part is the green paint under it all is in such good shape that I probably could have gotten by with waxing it . I just cant get the cleaning done evenly enough to get all thee green to come through without stripping it all the way down.
  4. Thank you, I'll paint the grill guard red , but iI feel that I should get a quote on plating the front piece and not the braces since it has so much metal up front.
  5. Check out the progress on the front end of my B-615 Mack. I do plan to put the grill guard back on. It is easier to work on with it off for now.
  6. It is red inside. I bought a quart of dead on it green and a paint gun too. Stand back I'll paint the whole world now!! It will be a while before I get the red out and primer it though. Iam chipping away at it though! Also Check out these comparison pictures!
  7. Yes Mike it does remind me of My B-615, especially the radiator. I have been working hard polishing the headlight panels. As a matter of fact it really doesn't look like the same truck. I'll post some new pictures soon.
  8. There is a new book out about Autocar Trucks. It is titled AUTOCAR TRUCKS OF THE 1950's. I don't know the author, but it is available from diecastdirect.com
  9. I checked the shop to look at the parts books. They were all gone just like the MH models we had. You might ask someone who owns a cruiseliner if their truck works the same. The parts may be the same. Mack seems to keep the same parts going for quite a few years.
  10. You may still find that your local Mack dealer can still supply you with the information that you need.
  11. Where I work we used to have a bunch of MH cabovers. They were all day cabs. I will check our shop and see if I can find you a part number , unless they have trashed all the part books. (thinking of that makes me feel bad)
  12. Will be praying for you. My 15 year old son died 4/22/08. Life wont ever be the same.
  13. I was surprised not to find one between the frame at the very end of the truck. Iam not sure of the origin of this truck as I haven"t contacted the Mack Museum about it.From the serial it appears to have been built as a single axle tractor, but there is some welding that has been done on the frame and reinforcement. There is very little rust and Iam thinking that it set a great while because the engine is not original or the transmission
  14. Iam using Klean Strip. The spray can is very handy and it seems to waste less product . It seems to stick better than the can and a paint brush. Then comes the single edge and 0000 steel wool. A dremel also helps for areas like the headlight ring. Don't forget the eye protection and playtex gloves as this stuff burns! The V8 is gone before I saw it. I was told they were bad for breaking the crankshaft. A 237 Maxidyne is there now and seems to be quite healthy. (knock on wood) The klean strip was found at Home Depot.
  15. I have been working hard cleaning off the front of the B615. Iam also trying to make sure all my skin stays on too!
  16. Mike here are the pictures you requested of the air tanks and bracket hardware on my B615 I put them here for all to see. Sorry it took me so long Bobby
  17. Hey Pete, Welcome, Better get ready to answer a bunch of technical questions!!!!!
  18. I always love the screen over the shutters, like Little Joe has!
  19. I never ever saw a donut like that at Krispy Kreme
  20. Hey, can I borrow your majic wand? It sure does evil things to Rob. Better not let him have it!
  21. The Macks we like are the real Macks. If you get down go out in the yard and fire your old Mack up!!!!!!! A few years back we had some cabover volvos @ UPS. I've seen drivers go home before they would drive one.
