  1. Have them look and find the "front door" to the Sangamo tachograph as shown in picture#3
  2. In case you guys dont know the hood is made of Aluminum. So are the headlight panels. I have stripped mine and polished them. If you do strip yours you will need to polish them to keep them in top shape
  3. Hey Superdog that means mine is 25 trucks older than yours!
  4. Hey leversole we have seen pictures of all inner workings of your 615. Where are the pictures of the outside in daylight?
  5. Mine is a little older than yours. My # is B615T1044. I am guessing you are a tandem axle too.
  6. The cab is made out of Maxiglass . It is a composite material made by Mack. It is fiberglass with powdered aluminum mixed in and cast.It will not rust and was very light and tough too!
  7. UPS ran the hell out of the MH tractors. When they were new the trucks were running about 22 hours per day, and they did that for years. They slip seated them and they ran ALL the time.
  8. THE ADJUSTMENT YOU SEEK TO DO MAY BE FIXABLE FROM UNDER THE TRUCK AND NOT THE FLOOR PLAN DOWN.I TRY NEVER TO MESS WITH SOMETHING Unless Iam ready to redo the entire thing. Remember these are old trucks and parts may be brittle and ready to break. You might as well go to walmart and buy a case of spray lubricant. I have fooled with so many frozen bolts and nuts the I give up immediately and grab the lubricant.
  9. One of mine is gone and the other tank has an insulator that looks more like a canvas strip.
  10. I cracked mine too.I still have enough to hang it back on though.I thought about using some fiberglass repair substance to wrap around the cracked stuff
  11. Run the rpm up. remember it goes into gear as the rpm drops. how much weight is on the rear frame does it have a fifth wheel, I have been driving big trucks for 17 years. When I get into my 615 its a different world. you arent goin to get this down by watching videos or down in a couple of days either.dont force it either unless you have unlimited funds. it just goes to show you the quality of drivers in days gone by.
  12. I got passed by a tanker last summer. He had the cap off the passenger side fuel tank. The fuel nozzle with about two feet of hose was sticking out of the open tank.Do you ever watch the news and see some bad truck wrecks? The public doesnt appreciate a safe well paid truck driver until a disaster hits their own family. These guys who drive and get paid the same as Mcdonalds employees arent doing anyone a favor.
  13. Take her picture in the daylight! (and post) I know you are out in the yard right now!
  14. In lexington Ky the last of the MH model were painted over the brown UPS paint with a roller loaded up and when I asked where they were bound for it was South America or Africa. Pretty much the same story for the first of the retired CH models too.I heard they went for a few thousand and when I inquired if we as employees could buy one the answer was no. They were all sold to one buyer. Those Mh were tough as hell. I saw an enjine blow one night and it still kept trying to run with a hole in the side of the block. UPS had to make a fortune off them. I cant believe they went out and bought another make of truck over the Mack! They had to roll the miles back in the computers that monitored PMI stuff as it would not take the actual miles on those units. All the parts books are gone too. I fear that they probably lined the dumpster with them
  15. I drive a ch for UPS and my tractor did the same thing. Let me know if you are still having this problem and I'll ask my mechanic what to do.
  16. Mine has a filter canister in it and the oil is in the bottom of it. My air cleaner is off as Iam stripping it to paint it.If you take it off the truck dont tip it over because the oil will run out. Also be carefel with the piece that The hose goes onto. It feels like fiberglass to me and I cracked it!
  17. s there a site where I can check and see what my old 1964 Mack b-615 is worth? As many of you have experienced a divorce and the husbands old truck is now priceless. Thanks for any help!
  18. Here in Lexington, Kentucky, when Deans Mack sales was sold and became Lexington Mack, they also sold Dodge trucks. As a teenager, I remember sitting in one of those Bighorns and watching the special guest of the night. It was Junior Samples of Hee Haw fame. Where did all that time go?
  19. There is an old GMC like that in Rockcastle county Ky. On 1-75 at the 59 or 62 mm. You can see it from the northbound side.He also has a COE pete and sleeper cab Autocar an A-cab w-900 Kw and a fire truck .Owners name is David Thompson.
