  1. mike what type of processing plant is that?
  2. I use the chunk method of failure analysis ...... no chunks on problems! ........ looks like normal wear and tear if preloads are present and brgs. look good I'd clean and reasemble
  3. must be a OBAMA OWL his head ain't on right!
  4. good lord how long is that R 330" ? hmmmm lets see turning radius 330x2.213 x80% @ full throttle x gvw = 5.89 acre needed to perform full circle
  5. I'm going out on a limb here must be air leaf front suspension?
  6. Thanks for the trip! btw your saving me a small fortune in fuel. As the song lyric says (took a trip and never left the farm) I think the county's getting pretty darn cheep when RICHARD RD. gets changed to DICK RD. just to save a few bucks on letters!
  7. I had a 3116 in a 2 ton size I think it was a 6500 or 7500 gmc svc. truck w/6sp avg. 24,000 lbs would run 70 mph and get 10+ mpg
  8. thinking about it a little more possibly 8.2 L fuel pincher G.M. diesel if early to mid 80's
  9. 3208 3208t or 1160 depending on what year
  10. thanks Mike I forgot what blue sky looked like, ours has a smoky haze to it for the last 30 days. that 4100 reminds me of high school days dad bought a fully restored and rebuilt one , we feed cows with it for 5 years or so. First time I ever had a sector shaft break in a steering box (not fun)
  11. unless your trying to keep it "as built" it is advantageous as far as I'm concerned to change over to 12v. I did mine last year had to add a battery cable change a volt meter and change the starter then remove the transformer box from the alt. if you have a dealer close there is a master elect. diagram that shows both 12-24 systems together and its pretty easy to change over ...oh and there is a small wire to remove from a circuit breaker on the fire wall.
  12. hey Yardo look its the missing link in truck evolution , a 4x4 green leaker, and then has that Oshkosh / FWD x-breed look to it I think you need it!!!
  13. DMM thank you for the pic !
  14. fill rad. and run eng. with cap off watch for air bubbles ,if present find a repair shop. head or liner problems most likely .if no air bubbles check rad. for plugged or restricted flow also make sure water pump is moving coolant, use a temp gun to check coolant temp drop from top port to bottom port ( 40-60) degree drop is normal
  15. story reminds me of one a buddy told me over in Ellensburg Wa. the w.s.p. lets the new guys work I-90 , well a new commercial enforcement officer wrote up a local logger for no slack adjusters, and no s - cams on three axles the driver kept telling the guy it has wedge brakes but he would not hear It, made them low bed it down the road! Well the good ole boys had enough of this idiot in a week so they bought him a cemetery plot, well the cemetery district sent him a notice of a paid plot and he couldn't get out of town fast enough. The Kittitas co. log truckers know how to getter done!
  16. DMM thank you this will make life easer
  17. I cant believe that no one on this site doesn't have a cl with a\c
  18. proving to be as handy as a pocket knife!
  19. ok I'm getting closer to putting the chill in the cab. but all the fire wall side stuff is gone. can any one tell me if it has a low and high pressure sw. or high only. also if any one has a copy of the a/c schematic for the electric stuff h.p.sw. comp. clutch etc. also if anyone has a CL could you please post a pic. of the condenser and rec./dryer mounting. I'm trying to rework the system a bit by mounting the condenser to the charge air cooler and not use the grill denser it looks like it will work but I didn't take any pictures last year when I got the e-9 from a CL thanks for any help/comments Rob
