  1. I run all 18 speeds in and out of yards and down the interstate. We love them. I change grease every 200,000 or so and only issue ever has been a weak snap ring. But once they're updated I've not had issues. We run 80,000+ and 3.86 gears and have no trouble pulling out of muddy yards or starting on hills. Low hole can be challenging to shift out of sometimes.
  2. My '95 rd is mech 350 e7. Tach is electric, so is speedo.
  3. Your evap tray is cracked. If u replace it the new one will crack too. I took mine out and used mack silicone on it.
  4. I use the TNT golden tool. Takes about ten seconds to demount a tire.
  5. Not sure on cams but he said it has something to do with injection timing or speed?
  6. That's true. There's a lot of radiator there.
  7. No heat issues but u gotta realize you may have 13 years of dead bugs and road debris in your radiator. My exhaust temp in the 460 with the stage 2 injectors will almost touch 1100 on a long hard pull at 80,000. I have digital temp gauge and water will hit 193 on a hot day pulling hard. But I have the biggest turbo I can get on the 460 without having to change the factory plumbing. It will push 47 pounds of boost. I always wanted to put the same turbo on the 427. A engineer from Mack once told me if you have a 460 to download the 427 fuel program into it. He said it'll make huge power but will smoke when you put your foot into it.
  8. When you do a tune up replace the injectors with Rochester's stage 2 or 3. The stage 2's made my 427 put out about 35psi of boost but I'll get smoke when I boot it. So a bigger turbo would help
  9. I've also seen guys put "J O Donnelly & Family" on their rigs
  10. My trucks run a average of 38% idle time. Idling a diesel is not good for it. They'll slobber fuel and it washes the oil off cylinder walls. You wanna run it at least 1000 rpms to build cylinder pressure. A cold motor is worse. If you have oil pressure for 1 minute idle it up and do your pre-trip.
  11. Funny how fast arrogance and cockiness go away. Kudos to the trucker.
  12. Any pics of the left side and interior pics?
  13. Nothing like just tipping half of your straight truck over.
  14. It could possibly be just a appearance option. Like the bigger cab lights or different air horns.
  15. My mack trannys always make that grinding noise. Its just intermittent. That snap ring can be broke for a long time before it decides to fall off.
  16. Both of mine that went bad broke the very first range change in the morning.
  17. Sounds like your snap ring broke off of the shaft in the tranny. When it breaks there's nothing to move the gears from low to hi. They make the new shafts with a wider groove for thicker snap rings.
  18. Take the fuse/relay box off of the firewall under the steering shaft under the hood. I bet there's green corrosion on the back of it. I just went through this.
  19. This always was a one finger steer, that's why I'm so perplexed.
  20. Well, steering gears were bled, again. No difference. Did according to Sheppard guy. No luck at all.
  21. We have about 5.5 gallons per minute for flow one way and 6 the other way. It is stiffer turning right.
