    Welcome this might help with your wiring issues http://www.bigmacktrucks.com/MusicVid/r_model_diagram.pdf Not sure if the same on your 74 but i believe the brake lights for truck should go threw the turn signal switch , which should require only one wire for brake and turn.

    Have one on my truck , only run it when i pull or show off . With the bigger plungers in pump i run out of fuel with out it on.
