A few more random Macks
PeterMack replied to vision386's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
Cool. I figured those trucks/pictures belonged to somebody on this site. They were to cool to be "random" Macks. -

Ok. Puerto Rico huh. Lucky guy doesn't have to deal with any salt eating his truck away. -
How about this White for a misc truck. This was at an ATHS show in Richland Center WI a few years back. Was even pulling a set of doubles. I can't say that I've ever seen another in person.

I came across a couple Macks the other day. I really like the six wheeler dump. Somebody spent a lot of time and $$$ on it. -
Barn "wallpaper"

Yes it is. I think I have had that poster since the mid eighties sometime. -

Got a few in the garage myself. Sorry about the spots on the Mack pics, expanded the garage and did some concrete sawing and the Mack pics took the brunt of the concrete water. -

Very nice collection. The Big Muskie is awesome.

Here are three tractors from the Ertl Precision series. I think they have only made three so far for the construction tractors but there are 20 or 30, maybe more for the ag tractors. They really do a nice job on these. Lots of steel. These things have to be almost 10 pounds a piece.

Greenstein G-Model
PeterMack replied to vision386's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
Here is a picture of a Greenstein H-model. I took this photo from a book called "Classic American Heavy Trucks" by Niels Jansen. There is a nice picture of a B-model on the front cover. Nice book, tons of cool photographs. -
I came across one of these a few years ago out at the Iowa 80 truck stop. It was parked out back with quite a few other trucks all waiting patiently for a restoration. Might still be in the same spot.

Duel was Steven Spielberg's first movie. They had to film many of the scenes against the rocks along side the road to give it the feel as if they were moving fast, but in reality I think that truck only had a 230 Cummins in it and wasn't quite the super truck they made it out to be. Love watching the old truck movies although some are dumb as hell, but cool to see the old trucks in action.

Ever forgot to open/close your tailgate?
PeterMack replied to jakebrake86's topic in Modern Mack Truck General Discussion
Years ago I used to work for a company that did land clearing and hauled all sorts of wood products and construction and demo waste. %99 of the time I pulled an East Genesis end dump or my East walking floor. One day they asked if I would take a load of C&D to the landfill in the East tipper trailer. So I did. The walking floor and tipper were very similar. I backed on the tipper, opened the door and sludge lock and the operator raised the trailer, next thing I heard on the CB was "nothings coming out, oh he forgot to undo the other sludge lock" SHIT! They lowered the trailer and I walked around the back to see the door bent out about 2 feet on the drivers side and closed on the other side. I forgot the tipper had 2 sludge locks on it, my walking floor only had one. The operators brought the backhoe over to put pressure on the door while I opened the other lock. They raised the trailer again and all the C&D slid out. The whole time I thought I was completely screwed, but when they let the trailer down and I went to close the door it was only tweaked about an inch and it shut with ease. I got lucky. Didn't make that mistake twice! -
A few more Macks

Very nice pics. I like the R700 and the Superliner. I came across a cool Mack picture the other day myself. Was actually searching for something else when this popped up. Maybe its been posted on here before, I don't know, here it is anyway. -
Superdog thank you letting us tour the grounds. Was a great place for any old Mack lover. Quite the collection. I didn't think to take a picture of us all together, probably should have. I'll post one of the B-model that looks very similar to my B.

Was waiting a the light the other day and took a pic of the new CAT loaders and combinations lined up at Patten CAT in Elmhurst IL.

Caught this Midwest Specialized Carrier's Pete on 11 axles with a 345 CAT at the Flying J in Effingham IL a few years ago. Was just at dusk so it didn't turn out as good as I would have liked. Thought it looked cool sitting there though.

Could you imagine having to sleep in that tird after driving it all day. No thanks. My ma took this picture of this White/Freightliner pouring concrete at our house back in the early 80's. I don't think Huntley Ready-mix had two trucks that were the same or any that would do over 45 mph loaded.
-
I thought this might qualify as an "other truck" Saw this KW out at Wolcott about 7 years ago. I don't ever recall seeing these on the road. I remember White/Freightliner and CCC had a similar setup on mixer chassis but had never seen a KW like this before.

I caught this one at the Waupun truck n show a few years back. He was driving by and I took the shot a little early apparently but got most of it in any way. -
