  1. Got that right, and while I'm at it I'll pick up this remote controlled CAT.
  2. I like the passenger seat, must be custom.
  3. I guess this could count as an excavator although it is not a backhoe, I took this picture of a replica of the Silver Spade front shovel at the National Toy Truck and Const.show in Indy. Very cool. I think it was just on display but I would definitely clear some room on the shelf for this one.
  4. Cool. I just talked to my friend and asked him if he was going to the show with his truck and he told me he sold it. He had a nice IH cabover and he told me he was selling a trailer and a guy came over to look at it, he saw the IH, made my buddy and offer and he let it go. He said the guy who bought it was from Chattanooga. Its no Mack, but I'll post a pic of the now Chattanooga IH.
  5. A friend of mine moved to TN a couple years ago and he went to a Music City ATHS meeting and took a few pictures and sent them to me. I think this show was Sept 2011. I think he took these with the phone and they were a little smaller for some reason, but you guys will figure it out. If I remember correctly it seems like their was a story in the Wheels of Time about that MH and how the club pitched in and bought the guy that truck because he was the Pres. of the club and didn't have a truck. Think the story was from a couple years ago.
  6. I hear ya. I used to haul up to Kohler and Sheboygan WI quite a bit and I would always see one of these trucks and I thought it was cool that somebody was still running a Cruiseliner, but little did I realize is that there was a bunch of them that I was seeing. Not until I saw them all roll into this truck show did I realize I had seen a bunch of different trucks. My first thought also was how is he keeping them going, it is hard enough as an O/O let alone having drivers in them, but more power to him and the best of luck to you, its always cool to see old iron still running down the road.
  7. I posted these on the Cruiseliner thread awhile ago and I also have them up on Hanks, but here ya go, should help. Also, Brian Schwind trucking from Sheboygan WI. I took these at the Waupun truck n show at Waupun WI about 5 years ago.
  8. I have that Phantom 309 shirt, don't care much for the song but I do love the shirt.
  9. Got this Walsh owned unit the other day after he lifted a couple box culverts off my trailer, they did that quicker than it took them to get the loader w/forks over there to lift the one pallet off my trailer.
  10. I'm diggin that A-car too, that's a cool looking truck, although it almost looks like its got Volvo rims up front, those might have to go.
  11. This could easily be a story about the U.S. Everything that was explained in that article is happening here. Overregulation, an aging workforce, low pay, unqualified drivers, immigrant drivers all happening right now. The old timers are getting out of this industry as fast as they can and from what I've seen the only people replacing them are unqualified trucking school grads and immigrants and even they don't have to be real bright to figure out that living in a truck all week and only grossing $700 to $900 a week and having no life sucks. You can work some shit factory or retail job for a little less and be home every night and have half the responsibility. Great article, thanks for posting.
  12. This one came to me via the inter-web on an e-mail, don't know where this was taken but it looks a little dangerous. The guy must like living on the edge.
  13. I was in a rail yard about two years ago and saw this pile toppled over. Could probably get these cheap at a scratch and dent sale.
  14. This Hendrickson showed up at a local truck show recently. I gonna take a guess that he is a John Deere fan.
  15. My friend knows who owns the land and I would assume the same guy also owns the machine. It looked runable. It looks like they still dump in the pit so it probably works once a year when it starts getting messy.
  16. I was up by the Wis/U.P Mich border over the weekend and saw this old D6 CAT in an abandoned gravel pit.
  17. I took those pictures in October of 09 because they had started dismantling the truck for shipment and it didn't get moved till this year. Neat truck. Jack and Gene Allen have both passed away but they had quite the collection of trucks and scratch built tow trucks. The company is currently run by their son in law and grandson. Thanks for the reply.
  18. Did that truck just come from Allens towing in Hampshire IL? Was parked about 10 miles from my house for the last 20 years. Got to be the same truck. Although the step on the front looks like it got beat up and is missing the beacon light.
  19. Got this Walsh 850 Deere working today while I was waiting for them to unload me. They were in no hurry.
  20. Was thinking the same thing. See them pulling alot of horse trailers also. Expensive little trucks.
  21. Here is a 345 I took a picture of at the CAT booth out at the Con-Expo in Vegas back in 05. Also got the CAT American Choppers bike that was in the back of a dump truck. Cool show. I am planning on going next spring. If your into construction equipment this is definitely a show you need to get to at least once. Only comes around every three years and takes at least 2 full days to see.
  22. Here are a couple more antique's from Waupun. Was talking to an old timer while I was looking at the Bordens Milk trailer made by Bartlett and he said they were made at 28th and Blue Island in Chicago. He and his friend had some interesting stories. Cool trailer and truck but I thought a single axle B model might look better under that trailer.
  23. Here are a few of the cabovers at the show. Seems like they're making a comeback. Some pretty cool trucks except for the blue/white/orange Pete. I am a Peterbilt fan but that is by far the ugliest truck they ever built.
  24. Here is a sharp looking A-car and good sounding one I might add and an Oshkosh for all the A-car and Oshkosh fans.
  25. Looks like it was fresh from a rebuild. Never got to talk to the owner but it had Homers Towing/Chrome shop sticker(from Milwaukee) on the back window. Truck was parked with them for the weekend, not sure if they helped with the rebuild or what the deal was. Got a picture of them coming back from the Saturday parade.
