  1. Just talked to a friend about that truck and he was thinking that company was based in Roselle IL. That truck did pull a trash wagon for a time but I have not seen it on the road for a few years. May have been parked for the last five years.
  2. Surely needs some TLC. I have seen that truck in the past. Think it used to pull a trash wagon and they had a couple R's or DM's with rolloff bodies.
  3. I'm going, I gotta get out my truck and go look at trucks. Something not right about that!
  4. Right on Superdog. I have seen so many guys use acid time and time again and completely ruin there aluminum. I saw a guy by me turn a shiny new East Genesis dump trailer white in two weeks. Just awful. Or like Mack Man said a quick rinse with acid to clean the heavy stuff and then polish, but to many acid baths = ruined rims, tanks. A lot of guys are always looking for a quick fix when it comes to polishing but the truth is, it is just hard work and elbow grease.
  5. I took that pic out at Maggio towing 2 or 3 years ago and both trucks are owned by Jim Schrantz now. He is from Seneca IL and is in the Northwest IL ATHS Chapter.
  6. Thought I could add a couple more.
  7. Here is a 1962 Sightliner for Skinner Trans. from Reedsburg WI at the 2005 Auburn IN ATHS convention.
  8. I've seen them in the salt also, and I cringed thinking what it was doing to my truck. I always wondered if the Shwind drivers actually like driving those trucks because these seem to be well taken care of, or if they are begging for an upgrade. Maybe to a brand new 86 cruiseliner.
  9. I believe these are the trucks you speak of. Brian Schwind Trucking from Sheboygan WI. I used to deliver up to Sheboygan and Kohler WI and I would always see a nice looking black Cruiseliner running around and I thought it was neat that somebody was still running one, but little did I know that there are about 15 still rolling and was very cool to see them all roll into the Waupun Truck n Show.
  10. This one was part of the Stork fleet momentarily (correct me if I'm wrong Brad) and I think was sold as a unit to a guy in Wisconsin if memory serves me right. I liked the simple instructions on the back.
  11. Here is one that was at the Big Iron Classic in Kasson MN 2011. It is used as a pulling truck and pretty sure it had a V8 in it. Didn't get to spend a lot of time by it but it ran good. Looked like a coal locomotive runnin down the track.
  12. Superdog, are these the two trucks you are talking about? These were in South Bend 2011.
  13. Those are Perkins Specialized Heavy hauling trucks from Minnesota. The gal looks like she's from somewhere warmer.
  14. I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought this show was complete bullshit! I love the truck with the top secret cargo abandoned at the rest area. If you got pulled over by D.O.T how the hell would you explain that load, uh yeah we found this truck at a rest area, uh, no log book, no bill of lading and I don't know whats in back. If the cop opened the doors and found ammunition in there they would think you were smugglers or terrorist's and you would have to prove that you weren't. The two assholes from Denver should be living under a bridge somewhere, what a couple of ignorant fools. If they are the face of trucking we are all in trouble.
  15. Well, gotta be Peterbilt for me. Had an International for about a year, and that was enough and had a W900L for a while which wasn't to bad but my favorites are my Pete's, the Yellow 378 I used to drive, the Blue 379 I currently own and the red/silver 379 is my daily driver.
  16. Don't be ridiculous, I'm sure she'll just chuck em into a dumpster while I'm at work and then put up Hummel Figurines and throw pillows. Ugh!
  17. The Granite is a Tonyan Bros. truck and they are from N.Illinois. They also had a R-model semi dump made. The Granite is hauling a Tenuta Cartage truck from Mt. Prospect IL and I believe Tonyan bought out Tenuta years ago. I think thats how that works. Will have to ask BCR AL, he''ll know for sure, but those trucks do come as a set and the Tenuta truck is one of the fancier First Gears I have seen. The back window even has the signature of Mark Tenuta on it. Once in a blue moon 1 will show up on ebay.
  18. Great topic. Will add a few pictures from my toy room and a couple closeup pics of a few Macks.
