  1. Saw this at Louisville a couple years back. Would be a wicked weekend warrior machine.
  2. I saw this former Flying J Mack at the local College by the diesel tech shop. As you can see the hood has been removed for easy access to the engine compartment.
  3. I got out on the Monfort Lane this morning early. Was nice and quiet out. Was only doing a couple over now that they've changed the speed limit. Saw alot of sleeping trucks at R-Place in Morris, not much happening at Ritche Bros., and even saw a Mack out for a ride.
  4. Here is one way to remove a hood and engine from a 379 Pete.
  5. My 1964 B-Model. 50 years old this year! Clean one owner, garage kept, adult driven, I swear
  6. At Christmas I was at my uncle's house and I borrowed a couple pics of his first trucks. The dark blue/white Hendrickson was his first truck as an o/o and was Cummins powered and the light blue/white was his second truck that had a 318 Detroit. He still had the book for the service manual for the first truck but all the literature was gone and it is now used as a photo album.
  7. Obama is a dip shit. More made up regulations to hamper the industry further. I like how he acts like these trucking companies are out driving around gas guzzling sports cars for fun just to burn up fuel. The industry doesn't need MPG police. Trucks are not like cars. If you lighten up a trucks empty weight it still has to haul 80,000lbs loaded. There is only so much you can do to make a truck more efficient with the technology that is out there. Company's have been trying different things for years, fairings, different tires, governing speeds and so on with some luck but at the end of the day it is still a huge vehicle that has to move a load up and down mountains and other terrain in a timely manner. If any manufacturer made a truck that got 10 or 11 mpg's loaded they would sell the sh*t out of them without any government help but that is not the case right now. Obama is such a freaking moron, his term in office can't end fast enough!
  8. This Cat was going for a ride. Was parked at rt 47 and rt 71 in Yorkville IL. Just a couple miles from the CAT plant.
  9. OMG! That was painful to watch. He must have bought his license in ILL.
  10. Here are my cranes, dragline, manlift, and a concrete pumper.
  11. Saw this state snow blower out yesterday. He just started into the pile as I went by. I was hoping to get a nice shot of it eating snow but I was a minute to soon. Turned out alright though.
  12. This is also happening in the die-cast market. Going to a toy show 10 to 15 years ago was great. The vendors had tons of First Gear, Norscott, NZG, Corgi, Ertl and tons of Nascar stuff. You could usually find what you wanted at the show or at least get a lead and find it somewhere else. Now Ebay rules the toy world and the toy shows are over glorified flea markets with dumb ass beanie babies, mass produced farm equip and old junk. Can't really blame the vendors though, you figure $3.50 gallon gas, hotel room, food and $60 and up table prices you have to sell a ton of toys to re-coup all those expenses. Don't get me wrong Ebay is pretty darn handy but it has ruined the hands on fun of seeing this stuff in person.
  13. 82 Cruiseliner in the truck paper. I think he has 10 or 15 that all look this good. Looks like he's letting one go. http://www.truckpaper.com/listingsdetail/detail.aspx?OHID=4899307
  14. Saw another one today. The tanker came around the corner and slid off the ramp, but Ohare was there with their CL700 and T800 to get him back up on the road, and unwrapped from the guard rail.
  15. Both Superdogs, you are correct, it was a Mack. Later in the evening I found out the owner of that company is a friend of a friends Dad. Small world.
  16. Not sure why everybody was crashing this morning but it made it tough to get around. Got a couple pictures of two wrecks but I missed the pics on 10 more plus the other 10 that I heard about on the radio. The T800 wiped out a Chevy pickup that blew the light and the blue (whatever it is) can't make it out anymore rear ended a daycab with a 39ft dump. Traffic was stopped for another wreck that was a mile up the road but the reefer truck didn't. I know flight for life was there, I would assume for the reefer truck. What a joke it was around here today, it was sunny and dry. Too many dumb ass's who stayed up late partying and couldn't think today!
  17. Here's a few excavators at Illinois Equipment on 80 in Morris IL.
  18. That's terrible. He has some awesome pictures. Always enjoyed browsing through his pic's. Almost all were from N. IL or S. WIS, all places I have been or passed by. R.I.P

    Why ?

These newer trucks are crap no matter what brand. I'm in an 07 Pete with a C-15 pre-emissions truck and have very little trouble with it. A few repairs here and there for a couple hundred bucks and that's about it. Yet we have a 2012 Mack, two 09 Pete's with Cummins and an 09 Pete with a C-13 Emissions Cat and the buzzers and check engine lights are on in these trucks every week. You need a full time guy from the Geek Squad on hand with a computer just to keep them running. Plus I'm getting 5.5 to 6.5 mpg's. The others are getting 4.5 to 5.5. Never understood how these new trucks can burn more but somehow be cleaner. Seems like if your getting better fuel mileage thats half the battle right there, and if the truck is easy to work on and cost of ownership is low its a win win. Anybody ever get behind one of these "emissions" trucks when they are purging? OMG its enough to gag a maggot. Make your eyes water, but somehow that's better.
  20. Nice pics. I would suggest to not see or drive through Chicago. DUMP! But that's just me. That bridge in TN is cool.
  21. This nice looking Marmon belongs to John Hoppes and I took this at the ATHS national show in South Bend IN.
  22. I remember when I would go to N ILL Mack they had a picture of that truck hooked to the sled rollin coal. It was under some plexiglass at the parts counter. Was a cool picture. Got to see it in person a couple years ago at the Dekalb Co. fair. Cool truck.
  23. Was up in Wisconsin again yesterday and spotted this Freightliner out working hard.
  24. Was up above the chedder curtain today and saw a couple plows out working hard.
