  1. Find someone with an electronic Freon sniffer, evacuate your system with your pump, put one can of R134a in, and use the sniffer. The Freon is heavier than air so check each fitting by starting at the bottom of it. You could even have a leak in the evaporator coil or condenser. Check the evaporator by sniffing at the condensate drain. Could even be at a factory crimped fitting line or the compressor itself.
  2. Thanks for the wheelbase length of 200 inches. What about the bed length and how much does the bed tilt, please? David
  3. How long is the bed itself? Does it tilt all the way to ground level where a car could be winched on the bed or just for dumping material off? What is the truck wheelbase? Thanks, David
  4. He also had a B model sleeper cab truck. All 3 trucks were priced at $3000. Someone plucked the sleeper up.
  5. Try these folks: http://www.restorationspecialties.com/ I know they have stainless steel beaded window channel and suspect they have the small screws and rivets. They have been in business for many years.

  7. It is actually waterloo. What a machine... Here is the link http://waterloo.craigslist.org/clt/3597683309.html
  8. I will take the 2 pieces of door glass. I assume they are new (looks like the original box with part no.) I will send you a private message. David
  9. Quote "And ya i have a 5 and a 4 but with 824 gears how fast do you think the truck will go and im not about to rip the axles out from under it thats why im looking for a box to add behind the 2 i all ready have." Here are the calculations I used for my Mack with 8.24 rear end ratios. You can vary the OD reduction, engine rpm, overdrive ratio (or in your case your 3rd transmission OD ratio) and tire loaded wheel radius to recalculate. With 10.00 x 20 or 10R20 tires, the loaded wheel radius is approximately 19.2 inches. The rear axle ratio is 8.24. S (in mph) = engine rpm x loaded wheel radius / 168 x final gear ratio For direct drive S = 2800 x 19.2 /168 x 8.24 = 38.8mph For overdrive of .85 S = 2800 x 19.2 /168 x 8.24 x .85 = 45.7mph For overdrive of .66 S = 2800 x 19.2 /168 x 8.24 x .66 = 58.8mph Another way to calculate using revolutions per mile for tire size. If you have a diesel then your engine rpm would be lower say 2100 rpm max: 10.00 x 20 tires rotate at approximately 500 rev/mile 5280 ft/mi / 500 rev/mi = 10.56 ft/rev of a tire At 2800rev/min for engine rpm / 8.24 rear axle ratio = 339.8rpm for direct drive x 10.56 ft/rev x 60 min/hr /5280 ft/mile = 40.8mph Assuming single overdrive reduction of .85 then 40.8/ .85 = 48 mph With double overdrive reduction of .66 then 40.8 / .66 = 61.8mph 10 x 22.5 rotate at approximately 517 rev/mile 5280/517 = 10.21 ft/rev At 2800/8.24 = 339.8 x 10.21 x 60 /5280 = 39.4 mph With single overdrive reduction of .85 then 39.4 / .85 = 46.4 mph With double overdrive reduction then 39.4 / .66 = 59.7 mph
  10. Looks like my 1963 B42 SX with 11R22.5's on the front is 88" wide outside of tire to outside of tire. The rear width with dual wheels is 96" wide. Looks like a pretty solid truck but pictures can deceive.........
  11. Nice truck....... "does anybody know where to get the mattresses that are notched for those sleepers the one in the truck hsa to go but I have never seen anyone selling those notched ones". I see you are from TN. If in east TN you might call Brothers Bedding in Knoxville. The original store up in Halls used to make custom mattresses for motorhomes. If not, they should be able to direct you to someone.
  12. It is on ebay with a starting bid of $20K or you can buy it now for a mere $41K! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1927-Mack-AC-Bulldog-/150842581576?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item231eeb2248
  13. "Pretty much anywhere, most of them were just your garden variety Briggs&Stratton lawnmower engines, all they did was use a small fan to circulate cool air throughout the trailer which was provided by blocks of ice,or "blown-in" ice (small chips) this type set-up is what my dad started on many years ago,he said sometimes they'd go through 8-1200 pounds of ice between Jersey and Florida with a load of produce on!....................................Mark" Back in the late 1950's as a young teenager I worked part of one summer with my next-door-neighbor's son at his Dad's Icehouse. We spent every day unloading wooden baskets/hampers of various vegetables off of trailers, opening the basket tops and putting a scoop of crushed ice on the turnip greens, other produce, etc. and reloading them back on the trailer. I sure slept well at night....
