  1. Good on you for posting the fix! This may help others with their on going issues with this over complicated junk!
  2. check the PAI site!
  3. 285 HP!! If its a 350 its econodyne! To establish if its 350 there will be coolant hoses to the after cooler it will be half / half coolant cooled! A 285 is strictly Air to Air cooled charge air! I beleive !
  4. ๐Ÿ˜… yup just pop that out would you joe!๐Ÿ˜…
  5. Bro thats where you come in ! I f the top pad on the other boxes is loose and flopping about as described earlier It it needs all 4 corners not just one! you need to point that out! that said if the T leaf is not been hitting the box for and aft its still OK to drive just Should to have the block changed!
  6. Yup this safety feature proudly presented by Volvo to preserve the starter for after the injector cup jobs!๐Ÿ˜‚
  7. yup seen them break!
  8. Unfortunately there is know middle ground in both our country's ! Opposition is one thing! Finding shit that both can agree on is another! < ----------------0------------------>
  9. Joey ! When you up root that liner check the outside of it for size markings ! They offered P numbers on these ! Glenn correct me if I'm wrong But OVERSIZED liners weren't uncommon can't remember the sizes 2 thou increments I believe ! I have installed up to 10 thou over before! pain in the ass honed for ever!
  10. Yup If it's just a toy Why piss away a big bag of cash on a rebuild! In my mind, open it up and see what's there pulling liners on this old stuff can be a nightmare I have had it where the whole weight of the truck was on a jack and a plate before the liner would move back when we had nothing! We had a porta power at work to do this job ! Just saying ! Let's see what you got bro! as Joe mentioned welding the liner can shrink it however myself I would opt for a quick hone and new rings at most! if the liners are not scored up! Just stuff to think on!
  11. Please do!
  12. Yup should be a free designer set of boxers !
  13. Wow never run across this! Anything can happen I guess! like I said earlier you dam lucky it wasn't a front box may have been a whole diffrent out come! Just sayin!
  14. No ! I suspect the bolt broke my self As I stated! That said! Its an opinion! When redoing the load cushions We Always the REPLACED THE BOLTS! unless instructed by the customer not to! Lot of weight hanging off of them bolts at times! Imagine if it were the front one let go WTF ,Excitement X4 New Underwear Required !
  15. Buddy you need to see the eye doctor!๐Ÿ˜‚ That looks like it was basically a clean break ! I NEVER SEEN ONE OF THESE Break like That ! looks like the coarse bolt let go that threads into the housing and stressed the rest! I wouldn't jump to the blame game on this other than the buffalo pads needed replacing! The T leaves hitting the box heavy usually the indicator! that said as indicated the welding is a possibility of a crack welding! !
  16. We do our best! Something to note when installing studs its recommended you bottom the bottom the stud and back it out a half turn ! not sure why the fine thread on the top does a better job of holding the heads down than any type of coarse thread! in my mind That said the 866 engine was a fine thread bolt if I remember correctly and they had issues with head gasket leaks! So who knows I could be misguided in my thoughts here! This maybe the reason Mack when to Coase thread in more current engines I don't know!? Been that way ever since! that may be the reason for the aforementioned instruction! So it won't hurt to heed that mention! Something else check them injectors you pulled and make sure the washers are stuck to them if Not Go Searching! just sayin!๐Ÿ˜…
  17. YUP! This a good point brought up by Mcpaul ! The liners are dri fit and usually tight but under the current circumstances best be safe! Get some heavy over sized flat washers remove a stud each side of the liner apposing each other closest to the liner and replace with short bolts! two per cyl
  18. Donโ€™t no how many times I heard that story always wanted to try it never had the ballโ€™s!
  19. Yup I 'm game I would try it If I had nothing else!๐Ÿ˜ฌ
  20. I assumed by the look of the top there it was a filter you made the tool from! Guess I am a dumbass ๐Ÿ™ƒ! Its round it fits the the hose I would go there if I needed to make a quick tool for pressure testing! And Volvo uses some perrty asshole sizes when it comes to most things! What ever fits!
  21. Congrats on getting the injectors out ! No need to replace the studs unless they are pitted to hell! Hopefully all goes well from here on ! the only thing now is if the studs are rusted or carboned to the head This can ad to the frustration of working with old iron!
  22. That can strip the boss at the top combine that with what you doing!
  23. Yup Thats a good base for a restore pretty unit! Good bones as they would say in the building trade!
  24. Don't know if that fitting will stay in there at 40 psi how ever very innovative on your part Onyx ! which filter did you use?
