  1. The above issue happens to non deleted engines as well have seen 3 in my area drop a chunk of valve and take out a liner and piston! that said the extra heat from an improper delete won't help the situation! So Mac pro is indeed correct! All comes down to chance!
  2. Sorry Limited experience on My part ! Suggestion ! This is a long shot And a bit of a parts Canon ! But have you tried replacing the set resume switch! If your using an extra set of switches at the crane end you may have issues there Conflicting signal to the ECU! That said ! It really sounds as thou the vehicle ECU has a glitch! It may have something to do with temperature change ! Not sure where the ECU is located on an MR but I believe its on the drivers side behind a kick panel ! The fact that the ECU is not seeing the brake switch is a concern! Try checking that function while its cool in the cab then when warm ! If it works then don't work with temperature change CAB heats up This may indicate you have an ecu issue! Just a thought!
  3. Sorry bro you can’t make a six cylinder anything sound good to me!V8 is music to my ears.
  4. Horses ass of a different color ! I to like the color ! Its still Volvo trash! One of my customers used to call his Volvos the Girly trucks ! Just repeating a statement ! Topics of this poster do not reflect the nature of the BMT web site we are an all inclusive group! πŸ˜‰ Sometimes!πŸ˜… And notice there is enough room below the compressor for that HPCR pump install an electric fuel pump and proper fuel pedestal good to go! Just sayin!
  5. So now everyone sits waiting for HI Modules That's simply wonderful ! It's OK guys just park your trucks and wait! 😑
  6. before I left we were having hI issues ! We were trying to convince customers to service the Air driers every year! Don't think it was helping! unfortunately in my opinion The AD9 is the best air drier out there (My opinion) however labor intensive to service! so your better off with the any one of the spin of filters wabco or bendix something quick and easy! The Volvomatic needs dry air as well so it makes sense to dry the air at the source! still cant hurt to install the VGT filter in the purge air line supply!
  7. You have a point Pro Comes down to doing it right if your going to make a change to something! the key way is a positive step forward not leaving anything to chance! just imagine getting rid of the the last three pumps would also take load of that situation as well!
  8. Possible ! had they left everything up front maybe the bull gear would have stayed tight! they were blaming that on the heated oil coming off the EGR Valve I believe! this engine has great potential if they would stop doing Band-Aids and changing stupid shit like hollow cams to save a few lbs weight! Redesign the head for a proper common rail system like MPRO said throw away that glorified turbo booster do dad mount a HPCR pump and air filter on the air purge same as we had on the vgt on the AC motor ! All would be right with the world ! Except its still! Volvo trash !πŸ™ƒ
  9. I ain't no truck driver Have no real world experience I can only offer up the stuff I hear from the customers I have worked with over the years! The few customers that had the V ride set up Liked it! As you can see by the pic it has Good Flex as the four wheelers call it!
  10. So the rumor I heard was it was to do away with any possibility of the crank ( flexing ) more arcuate timing ! Don't forget the previous versions of the green goblin everything was front mounted just like everything else ! I doubt it had anything to do with cab over designed trucks! Who knows if this is true ! another backwards move is the press together cam ! A bold step forward ? or backwards in the name of 5 pounds of weight? or just another place to have hard to find problems! Just saying
  11. I wish there were no political options allowed on the site just gets people stirred up! Truck related stuff! Important shit!πŸ˜‚
  12. Yup something political happen rd and they left ? Unfortunate! Mack technician another loss miss them guys !
  13. Yup don’t matter to me I don’t work on it ! How ever I do see the forest for the trees! These guys are also stuck in there ways determined to flog a dead horse!
  14. It’s half as bad cause they didn’t focus on the problem ! the plungers! Do you see the three electrical fired one’s failing ? The ones that fail now are the plunger operated ones! Correct?
  15. The whole shmeer is garbage! Volvo has had issues with cups for long before Mack came along I worked with a fellow who was with Volvo for years and he claimed the cup thing has always been an issue! Got worse as combustion pressure in creased
  16. Correct ! Service. In my mind it don’t matter where you control the flow ! But never had a degree in engineering! 😞
  17. Correct ! These mp engines would have a lot less problems had they gone to a proper common rail system! The dollar store Delfy system only half fixed the injectors dancing in the cups! In my opinion the egr valve mounted on the cold side of the cooler would help to!
  18. Yup sorry Joe have to call a spade a spade! Vac ride put camel back to the back of the line buddy!
  19. I would be interested to hear everyone's comments on the above subject! The first of many of my thoughts would be replacing the fuel system with a proper HPCR system Bosch type system! the Engine mounts would be high on my list as well!
  20. Very likely I believe the chain inside them was added for safety ! think that was the added fail safe! Pro could elaborate I stand corrected if this isn't the case ! Not a fan of the torque rod set up on these how ever ................ It doesn't MATTER WHAT I THINK! πŸ˜‚
  21. Unfortunately in my opinion you are correct on all counts there Onyx ! That V/ M ride is one of the better ideas The V brand applied to the trucks ! The only weak spot is the axle pedestals made of rubber with a safety chain inside the bonded rubber breaks free and the block tends to dance around on top! we sold a fare few MR Garbage packers with this stuff it was standing up quite well ! I had several customers that brought some older Volvo dump trucks in for inspection Every six months and this was a fairly common occurrence ! Volvo ran this set up for a fair few years be for they offered it up on the Mack brand ! You don't want to take advantage of that pictured articulation to much OR you will soon be replacing the block ends on a regular basis. just an observation!
  22. If you were exhibiting any of the other issues in this post ! chances are there diagnostic is correct that said its a costly affair!
  23. Half the stuff has Mack stamped into it! Good choice for alternate parts!
  24. If you have rubber frame to diff torque rods try removing them for a day see if this helps! We had customers that said removing these made a world of difference traction wise on dump trucks ! That said Mack at one point offered sealed grease torque rods on certain models MR maybe that had few issues on garbage packers may be an alternative! ! Maybe give it a try! If you have two remove one or both to try it! the down fall being the suspension will dog track some on turns! Just something to try!
