  1. all good bro ! It’s a possibility! Not sure what tools he has but you can put pressure on the charge air on the compressor side and if you have the engine winder turn the engine by hand till you find the spot where the boost will build on the guage you may be able to pick this out with the water trick! I’ve only ever done it once on the red engine used to do it all the time on the gray engine! I’m like you I’m a gray guy in more ways than one!😂
  2. Yup p number is important they can start as low as p2 up to p30 check em as up pull them look at the numbers! For sure good call Mark! Rods as well ! Eyes pealed for this part number then p2/10/20 and so on!
  3. The groove needs to be at least 5 thou or better! I prefer deeper! Just me!
  4. is there any evidence of anti freeze in that tube!?if there is it may be effecting things!
  5. Check the fire ring grooves on the heads ! This will be important on re assembly!
  6. Inlet manifold! Let’s chase the sound first bro! Doubt the boost sensor for sound Joey no offence please! I know we’re both trying to help! Water at every gasket and joint even the egr cooler and tubing!
  7. Also are you thowing any other codes?
  8. Sounds like the turbo actuator valve is acting up was there any oil evident in the line to the slave on the turbo?
  9. Yup it will throw a code how ever try it! See if it changes things!
  10. Try unplugging the egr valve!
  11. Can you notice this sound at idle? If so run a garden hose over all of the exhaust side joints turbo gasket too and listen for the sound to change! Use common sense don’t do it on a sreamin hot manifold?
  12. Have you checked the intake side at the front for broken or missing bolts or cracked manifold?
  13. Do you have access to compressed air ? Take the line off the actuator and see if you can make it move! As Joey said the pin can seaze on the actuator! Is there any air coming from the stainless line going to the actuator? Sorry I’ve been away since posting this morning! Every start the computer does a sweep check! If it’s not doing that the engine won’t know where to start from!
  14. yes it is suppose to ! but the truck has to have at least 90 to work properly ! Also you should observe if its going full stroke on the test cycle!
  15. At least you got back!sorry to hear about the hood incident!😡
  16. I'm with Joey ! Crack is very un common ! I don't know what the P is about! I doubt its a huge physical issue! More a bolt on or programing thing!
  17. I’m no truck driver just a dumb wrench turner ! But in my humble opinion the more gears the better! 18 sp fuller would be my choice ! Note modern easy to get parts lots of selection for almost any horse power! just my opinion!
  18. Robert and American were both available!odviously fueling were different! Robert Bosch usually came with a switzer turbo and American came with A/R turbos
  19. Yup that’s what we all want for you as well we’re here to help as best we can ! Check out that old post I dredged up!350! I love seeing these old things get or keep life in them!
  20. Stick with what you have ! 315 /350 are ment to have a multi speed trans
  21. Check that 350 post I just made undead post brought it to life! 😂 scroll down there is a picture of a water cooled charge air! Trent posted!
  22. What is it now ?
  23. Nate look at this!
  24. No sorry bro I don’t! Your core engine is fine you can go up to 315 with that ! The water section used to take up about 3 inches on top of the existing air to air !with a 1 inch tube in and out ath front of the box!
