    Ok AL and AL2 was 4- 1/4 from bottom of frame rail left front drive axle to the bottom edge of the suspensions main support with brakes off level ground full air psi Maxair 40 early prior to x mark on suspension was 5-1/4 later version was 4-7/8 think you have the AL or AL2 hope this helps.

    Thats what I used back in the day before cam sticks it was a fifth wheel grease of some sort very thick like tar but it worked.

    Would have to move the cab back just to fit the turbo and exhaust in.

    Most of the later E9 just used silicone the olded ones I wasnt sure of .

    E9 doesnt have a gasket for air compressor thats why you cannot find one use silicone around flange dont get any in the lower holes they return oil flow.

    Most likely the econovance oil control solinoid is worn and slow to advance on start up injection pump rack controls geting worn also not usually a issue wiring going into pump and connections are the biggest issues to deal with. So if its just a start up issue right now and no malfunction lights then good to go welcome to BMT sounds like you have a nice truck how about some pics.

    The owner is not interested in selling it rite now his son wants to turn it into a service truck for welding, so I will check back next year the cab is really rusted has weeds growing inside the cab.

    Any chance there was a aftermarket company making these hoods in the 70s

    Looked in bucket and did not see any extra fiberglass or filler it looked like in was made this way engine looked almost new bright gold paint truck is maybe 69 has a steel dash in it.

    Found this R with duel headlights it looks to be a factory install unless its a aftermarket hood think it looks good though.

    No h-rings on e9 but do need to hold all lifters up with cam lifter sticks or alot of pocket magnets and unbolt cam plate.

    Welcome Iam a dodge nut too met my wife drag racing she was driving a 70 super bee 4 speed 440 and me 70 dart 440 4 speed we have both had alot of mopars over the years welcome to BMT. nice R
