  1. Make sure the de-aeration valve /fitting is in the correct location in the fuel filter housing plate. Had one recently another shop had worked on and it was installed at the outlet fitting going to the head and caused hard start issues for sure. Note it is a lot thicker then all the banjo fitting on housing.
  2. Go with more power , Never had anyone ask me to turn there engine down before.
  3. Check the 90 degree bend were the wire harness goes into the tran inside the plastic connection .
  4. Have seen egr valve fail and cause #5 injector to code up also.
  5. Not as heavy as it looks I guess.
  6. Dam that looks heavy.. I ll be at the house all day my boy is sick . Sorry to miss the mind meeting , I really need to get out.
  7. Yup run a couple beads of weld up the liners , let them cool off and they should come out a lot more easy. dry ice also works well .
  8. He was the only smart one on the stupid show, sad to hear of his death way too young.
  9. 2015 Champ trucks will be at Charlotte , hopefull to be there with my truck.

  11. Hummmmm I use to work at the Charlotte shop some time long long ago.
  12. Welcome to the party , I too work at a Mack dealership enjoy the madhouse .
  13. Crankshaft main journal to bearing clearance .0022 - .0056 in. Make sure if engine is in chassis to support the crankshaft to measure with plastic gage to get a good reading. Rod journal clearance .0012 - .0054 in. If the crank has been turned down they are usually marked ,stamped at front counter weight somewhere.
  14. Make sure oil pump block off plate gasket is good and pickup o-ring to pump is good.
  15. Egr cooler would be my first guess.
  16. Check where the harness connects at the hood hinge 2in past connection . The harness is bad for rubbing through there.
  17. Have never seen cam bearings on etec cause oil psi so low that it caused low oilpsi and shutdown to come on . See if he still has the old main bearings and check to see if they say deltawall on the back or P1 or P2.
  18. Did the correct size bearings get installed , had a truck few years back that someone else had rebuilt the engine turned the crankshaft down and put stock bearings in = low oil psi . I had to remove bearings and install correct oversize bearings and all was good. Need to make sure oil is not being duluited with fuel also this is common low oil psi issue.
  19. I see this one everyday , didn't know it was worth all that $$.
  20. I heard the it was going back to 9 pin from someone who is writing the new software for mack/Volvo system, have no idea if it is true but said the tech tool2 is suppose to be more like the original tech tool . Also JPRO makes a aftermarket to that will read clear codes and do regens very nice setup for obd2 systems all the way back to v-mac 1 in one system.
  21. Also suppose to go back to the 9 pin connector .
  22. I heard there is a possibility of it going back to a techtool version, time will tell . But yes I do not enjoy using techtool II.
