You are probably right that it doesn't meet standards. Theres cert stickers all over this thing from 06, 08 and I think 2010. I have no knowledge of fire trucks so I know its going to be all new to me. I have little knowledge of big trucks in general, thus the reason why I joined the site. Well, its collector owned now so its going to be someones toy, or export. Either way, it was fun to play with it at his house. What kid didn't grow up wanting to play on fire truck? I finally got to at the age of 40. Unforntunatly, I didn't get to drive it down the street. I am still trying to get him to let me do that.

The Fireman I spoke to at the fire company said there was nothing wrong with the truck, simply put the truck was too old to recertify is what he told me. They didn't want to spead hundreds of thousands of dollars from a new truck but they had to. This was a question I had and he said other states or municipalities maybe different and if they don't have restrictions to age, then it will pass with flying colors.

I have no idea what that means...

I know this is a MACK site but I figured maybe one of you guys who know someone interested in this thing. A buddy of mine has this 84 Seagrave Fire Ladder Truck he is looking to sell. He bought it directly from the Fire Department last year when it came out of service. According to the Fireman at the Fire House the only reason they sold it was because due to age, they couldn't get the ladder recertified again but there was nothing wrong with it. Some specs: Detroit 6-71 550hp Allison Automatic 100' Arial Ladder with 96' Reach 8,700 original miles. I have no idea what else to list because this is out of my realm but its a cool truck indeed. I told him to show it in Macungie but he wasn't able to go that weekend. It just sits at his house. He is asking $16,900.

Saw that on the interweb the other day. Those cubs came right up that ladder in a second.

Boss 428's were cool but I have to agree that the Buick GS or even better the GSX was one on the most underrated bad ass cars out there. Those suckers had 510lba of torque! Apollo White is my choice. I had a 70 and 71 skylark and missed out on a 72 455 GS. I also had an old antique, a 32 Pontiac:

I've been dying to take a cross country trip. My wife wants us to get a 28' class C camper so we can take the cats along. Problem is work gets in the way from taking a two month long trip. I need to hit the lottery.

I have driven an sold everyone of those cars. My favorite of all time is my Formula Firebird with a 70 Chevelle a close second. I had A 70 about 8 years ago and never should have sold it.

At Englishtown swap meet there was a guy with a Pete cab on a 1 ton chassis. I used to see it all the time but the last coupe years he hasn't been there.

As promised the pictures: 02 Avalanche 2500 8.1L and 24' Enclosed Trailer leaving the shop at 5:30am: The George Washington Bridge at 7am - When do you ever see it this empty? Check out the fog: Somewhere in CT I decided to eat a flaky pastry while driving, which went all over the front of me. My wife was hysterical and had to take a picture: Desperate? Before you throw yourself off the Bourne Bridge going into the Cape call this: On the other side of the bridge to say Welcome: Why yes, I did have to Pee: About 2 miles from my delivery point, I came to a stop sign. I looked to the left because I had seen a sign that said trucking and scrap. You never know if there's an old car laying back there. Well, this is what was in the driveway. I was going to take a couple shots of the Chevelle coming out of the trailer and in the guys driveway but ADT called my wife's cell tell us the house alarm was going off and the police were going to check it out. She was a bit freaked out so no pictures dropping off but here is a picture of the car from our website: If you have bugs this big, you're going to need more then a can of Raid: On the way back in we hit the storms and found this Topkick with a C60 on the back. The back two chains were still a little loose. I made sure I put some distance between me and this guy. We stopped for fuel at one point and when I started the truck up again, the battery was low and barely started. I had to leave the truck running any time we stopped so we didn't get stuck. Worst time for the battery to fail 300 miles from home. We got back to the shop at 7:30pm and parked the truck. I tried it again just to see if it would restart and it was done. Good thing it had a strong alternator. Oh, when we got home we found one of the cats chewed the alarm wire for the sliding door, which set it off. The whole trip back my wife Sandy was wondering what would have set the alarm off. Was it someone breaking in? A malfunction? Thunder? - Nope... cats. Probably the kitten or the Momma since she is still young too and is always gnawing on something.

The other day on I70 in Maryland there was an R and RD on the back of a flatbed headed towards Baltimore. Probably hitting the port. Both had auction numbers on the windows.

Just got back from my Cape Cod trip. That's a long day. I give you OTR drivers a lot of credit. 13+ hours and 600+ miles a day beats the hell out of you. The heavy rain and morons do not help either. I've done trips like this in the past (Erie pa and also Youngstown ohio and back in a day) but this one was extra tiring. I'll post some interesting pics in the next day or two. I found a B Mack dump behind a house where there was a trucking company and scrap sign in Falmouth Mass. My guess it's a B61. I stopped and took a picture as there was an older guy pulling into the driveway. He must have been wondering what the heck I was doing taking a picture of his house. Lol.

Trailer brakes work better then the trucks brakes. Panic stops are a bit fun. This truck we usually use with the single trailer or the 24' enclosed. Since we are between 1 tons it has to do. With the load bars it's actually a pretty good ride but as I said stopping I need some distance. It's 4:18 am and I am about to head out to Cape Cod. The wife is coming for the day trip so she can hopefully take a few more pictures of stuff. She's not happy about this ungodly hour but I'll be there before noon. I'll post pictures tonight or tomorrow.
