Insurance appraisals do not reflect the real selling market. I get this all the time when people bring their cars into my shop to sell. I get " it was appraised for $35,000 so that's what I want". Then I tell them it's only goin to realistically sell for $18,500 then they get mad. I can appreciate Andy's truck but too busy for my tastes.

That's nice and stubby. I dig it. I don't know F's at all but my gut says offer $2,500-3,000 if it runs well and the cab is relatively solid and tires fair.

When's the GMC General shirts coming out?

The misses and I will be driving out and back the same day on Saturday. Cross our fingers, the General will be showing for its debut.

I've thought about putting the General up once I get it done to buy something like this. I would get a lot more use from this thing over the General. I also researched converting the GMC to a 30' rollback but at the cost of $20k + it would be cheaper buying a truck that's already a rollback. All a fantasy right now... Unless I hit the Powerball tonight.

I called the shop. They have cooper RM185 steer tires for $450 + $50 for mount and balance each. Woof! Just as I expected. I think I need to up my sales this month so I can get some tires. I'd rather go new for the fronts than used just for the safety reasons.

Found this on fleebay. Not a bad looking truck and the money seems right. 1,400 miles away though. I guess if I had the money I could drive out and throw the car on the deck and drive it back. I highly doubt it. They pretty much killed all dirt bikes with 2 strokes because of the environment. I don't think any manufacturer is going to invest millions into a new product that might not meet the approval of the EPA, especially in Cali.

I stopped at the shop doing the repairs on the General. Everything is going well but he asked if I had planned on replacing the front tires since they are showing some dry rot after sitting for 8 years and age. I didn't think there were overly that bad but blowing a front tire is not something I want to experience. I see Triangle tires on eBay for $265 and the place is in NJ. They claim Triangle are one of the best tire company's rated like Goodyear and Michelin. I have my doubts because I know nothing about them. I have read the Chinese tires don't have good reviews. Lots of out of round issues etc. Anyone have any experience with these or have any good brand tire recommendations and cheap places to buy from? I am planning on calling Edwards Tire in Wall MJ tomorrow to get an idea of price on a pair of General steer tires for the obvious reason, their Generals. I have a feeling I am looking at $500 each though. Google turns up a load of tire websites but I have to contact them for price quotes. Pretty ridiculous.
