Ok.  So you only have a valve cover. If it had engine brakes there would be a 2" spacer under the valve cover. You will need those, also the exhaust rockers and bridges are different, you will need the longer bolts for the jake heads and valve covers, 2 micro switches, one for the injection pump and one for the clutch pedal, and 3 position switch in the dash.  Not sure if the celenoid wires are laying on top of the engine, i doubt it. And you need 2 jumper wires for under the valve cover.

Thanks Joey. I'd like to find a retired unit in a junkyard all get everything at once. I'll buy new or used. Any help locating parts would be great.

yes sir. that makes sense. I knew you would anyway. I just wanted to post a shopping list for you, to help you. I'm not sure if I forgot anything.  Keep in touch. this is a good topic..

i have 1 pair of 680 jake heads, but they are lightly rusted. I guess I could put them in the wash tank and clean them up for inspection. I saved them from the scrap pile a few years ago.

Wasn't planning on buying jake brake kit but there isn't one on this engine.  Hoping to find the whole setup im one bang. Anyone know where a good semi junkyard is ???

Have you pulled up VanDerHaag's website. They are a big truck salvage outfit based in Iowa and advertise in the ATHS WOT.  If I remember right they were a big sponsor of the ATHS Des Moines Iowa show in the mid 20teens?

,Im going to have to call them. Looking for 1997 parts there's not much listed. If putting a jake on this engine is going to run over 3k I'll probably start looking for another core and be much more careful when I buy it.
