tjc transport Posted 2 hours ago Share Posted 2 hours ago about 2 1/2 hours ago on the way to eye exam. 17 year old who just got her license thursday afternoon misjudged distance and lane changed into me at 50 mph. i did not see her until impact. the pit maneuver i put on her put her a bit sideway into the center barrier, but she turned right and did not hit the wall. i turned left and mashed onto the brakes which put me a bit squirrely from the stupid abs brakes. but once clear of her also turned right, let off the brakes and mashed the gas to correct. the V8 engine and 10 speed trans downshifted from 8th to 4th and put me sideways in the road. i think the poor guy behind me almost had a heart attack when he went from looking at my tailgate to the passenger side of the truck with smoke pouring off the rear tires. everyone pulled over. the poor girl was having a panic attack, and crying so hard she started hyperventilating. we calmed her down and convinced her to call her dad to come get her, because she was in no shape to drive home he showed up within 5 minutes, and not once raised his voice to her. once we all convinced her there was no real damage to either vehicle she finally calmed down. but i guess i now need to get a new truck. 😁 Quote when you are up to your armpits in alligators, it is hard to remember you only came in to drain the swamp..
