I was going to maybe lay out mounts before installation but figure why. This was easy and was much simpler then I imagined. The 1/2" plate is about all my old Millermatic has in it. I had it in the big hole and wire at WOT. She's melted in good. Once I notched the corners to clear things, I laid out the holes for the mount bolts, then I leveled the plates 90* to the transmission and marked their height on the trans plates. Removed plates, squared them up and welded and added the gussets(corners I cut off for clearance). I was expecting a worse scenario of odd angles and offsets. Now I can start on clutch linkage. I know the arm needs 23* of rotation, so that will really help with ratio and arm lengths I need to build to make sure it gives me free play on the clutch and works the clutch brake. 6 Quote Larry 1959 B61 Liv'n Large...................... She doesnt fuss too much. She even told me I need to put tires on 3 of my trucks because I keep plugging the leaks or squirting tire seal in them... So.. I guess I have a keeper too... Joey Mack Posted 10 hours ago Share Posted 10 hours ago I purchased a truck that was her Daddy's truck. The engine got hurt during a race with a motorcycle. Her Brother who was the owner at that time was the driver.. Well i negotiated a deal. The truck is mine.. She cant wait for me to diagnose the engine, and do whatever it takes to put Daddy's truck on the road ! She will also be part of the engine repair or build, whatever it needs.. She has helped me build many engines in the last 10 years.. so thats the truck, obviously,, and my Lady putting pushrods in a 673 and the head studs and nuts while im off to the side doing other things, she also used to rebuild bundle oil coolers for me and help me put cam bearings in. Now the cam bearing job,,, she knows how to help me aim the oil holes with my aiming tool. She will tell me which way to rotate the bearing to get it lined up.
