Fortunately My Mom & Dad took a lot of pictures as I was growing up, and it seems like I inherited that same trait,, if I take a picture of a truck or vehicle I try to put someone in the picture like they did,, it means so much more years later. ,, Top left is My Dad and Me in front of a old Plymouth he had in the mid 60s , notice trucking hat & cast on his arm, he broke his wrist helping my Grandfather put a clutch in a car ,, he did some trimming on it because he never missed a day of work,, he still drove a B Model and shifted a duplex with it . The color picture to the right is him and the B Model,, I had it colorized and blown up, the other with 3 black and white small pictures are Dad and Me, old Hennis Freight pictures from the early 60s . The other color picture is Dad and Kyle at the National Truck Show in Greensboro in 1999 in front of a ( unknown owner) LJ . Thanks for the interest,, I have blown up so many and framed them I ran out of room to hang them.

A very different attitude today as far as taking time off when crook or with a busted bone 

Everyone wants to push it to the limit with the amount of time off, very different than how I grew up, having a sicky was and still is frowned upon in my family, in the older parts if my family anyway 

Younger people "pull a sicky" as they say for any B.S. reason 

Only sick days I have had was when I broke my back and wrist 

Back working full time in 4 weeks 

So lucky to have all this history

Yes ,, I don’t believe I ever remember getting ready for school and my Dad  was there, he always went to work. I worked for Ryder Transportation for 32 years, for the first 10 years I never missed a day. Then only a day or so a year if I was really sick with the flu or something. Now the young generation will call off if their dog is sick. The workforce of the United States is very soft , But that’s what you get when you pay people to stay home!

I was pretty much the same way. I didn’t call off unless I had to.

A cold winter day here in the mountains,, a friend of mine came over and we’re trying to finish up all the polishing, we have definitely transferred the black from the fenders to us !

And a good excuse for keeping it inside out of North Carolina's salt and brine!!! I hope you and your family survive this weekend. Was just out and there is some wind blowing, just enough to push the chill thru you.. Have the kitchen faucets dripping.

Excellent man thanks for that … even with the right equipment it’s a ball, buster and time consuming I’ve never done it, but I’ve seen guys do it professionals .bob

It was probably a lot colder in upper Vermont>> And Maine and  upstate New York!!

The coldest i experienced was in Rangley Maine back in early 90's was  -45 degrees.  I could not get into my car because the doors were frozen shut.  When it warmed up to -20 a few days later, I was able to drive my sled in to town.  I would cut across Rangley lake to get there.  Looking back.... I would like to do that again...  but I have been in N.C. 20 years, so Im probably a wimp now...

Same here!! Been down here 35+ years. DO NOT miss the cold a bit.. I have seen -35 on the bank in Mars Hill ME when I got out of the truck to get the loading slip for my potatoes..  BUT I think the coldest I ever was, was top Loading fuel oil in Odgensburg NY when the thermometer on the rack said -26F and Lord only knows what the wind chill factor was coming across the frozen St Lawrence river!!

Well no matter what you blokes say, it was cold for me today, the wind chill sorted me out

It was 15 here this morning,, and as I get older it hurts more, when I was in my 20s I’ve ran that LJ picking up trucks on I40 in the Pigeon River Gorge in Zero degree weather and hurt less than 25 does today!    I used Zephyr polish on the final finish, but I also have used a couple other aluminum polish and I can’t tell a lot of difference.
