Popular Post Freightrain Posted February 28, 2020 Popular Post Share Posted February 28, 2020 Well, after all these years I'm finally getting the hood fixed up on the truck. Took it to my buddy a few months ago and told him to pick away at it and let me know when it's done. He texted me a couple days ago and tells me to come get it and test fit it before he finished bodywork. He had patched the corners and replaced the inner supports at the latch points. Looked good so far. I bring them home and throw them on only to find out the back corners are pulled in severely and it won't fit the cowl by inches. I talked to him today and ask how I might do something about it. After a talk I decide it is better to bring the truck to his shop and let HIM make it fit. We just got a blast of winter yesterday and should get some decent accumulation the next few days. Last weekend would have been perfect to drive it over(50 and clear). Told him we'll watch the weather and maybe in a couple weeks it will be good enough out to drive it over so he can tinker with it(it's a 45 min drive). I've still got a couple months before it has to be road worthy so it's not critical yet. Heck, it's a hot rod now...no hood!! 6 Quote Larry 1959 B61 Liv'n Large...................... I'd have to strip stuff down, blah, blah, blah and I need it ready to roll by mid April. Not sure if you have ever had a vehicle stuck in bodyshop hell? LOL!! You could buy another B-model or the front half of it and bring it down there instead A story of that kind - when I asked an upholstery guy to make me two new door panels for my R-model I brang the old pair of those as a sample. I also realized today he ground the tabs off the hood sides that locate the stainless trim. Ugh, guess he will be welding something back on? Smdh.
