Mack Trucks | Australian Made

How many Americans want to buy a Chinese Communist Party (CCP) built truck? That's literally what the new situation amounts to,

Now, the party via Geely is the largest holder of Volvo shares, meaning the party is the largest stakeholder of the Mack brand. When one buys a Mack brand truck now, you are sending a portion of your money to the CCP. No rocket science here.

How does everyone feel about that?

Our government, the DOJ, should never have authorized the sale of our iconic Mack Trucks to foreign aggressors.

Only Americans care about America, and American business. Foreign aggressors only want to profit in the US......their allegiance does not lie within our shores.

8.2 percent of Volvo’s capital (Volvo Group's largest shareholder), 15.6 percent of the votes, and a board seat.

The way Volvo run Mack is also sort of like communism wouldn't you agree?

In a democratic system, Mack would have some sort of say in what affects them.

A good opportunity was missed when an American investor didn't buy the shares that geeley bought obvious that an American could have bought into volvo and rescued mack but it didn't happen . Why not ? Or was it a inside deal ? As far as I'm concerned lunstedt has done as terrible job as ceo .sad really.

"American" investors don't exist anymore- A wise investor diversifies their holdings, and owns equities in several areas of the world. And buying Volvo to save Mack? Volvo's got a total stock value of 34 billion $$$, what billionaire can risk half that just to split off Mack? And even if someone bought off Mack, what's left... Mostly just the bulldog.

Down uderites: What was the smaller Mack COE made in Australia. Not the Magnum. Where they decent trucks. I thought they were decent looking trucks. Are they still made. I think they were used over the road, in mixers dumps etc. It may have been a Renault model.

Mack Quantum, based on the Renault Premium. Good truck.

There were 2 versions of these from memory.

Early ones came in as Glider Kits, (Cab Chassis & front Axle) & were fitted with Aussie spec running gear. These had quite a few issues!!!

The Later ones they Imported & fitted a Fully Groomed Cab to the Ch chassis..

These were a Far better Truck from all reports.

Recently Kenworth announced their 60,000th locally made truck. About the same time, Volvo announced its 60,000th locally made truck.

Are you kidding me? But after doing some reading, Volvo has included every Mack sold in Australia, even prior to Volvo’s purchase of Mack.

So Mack does matter to Volvo, when it makes Volvo’s numbers look better.

Claiming sales of the former American icon Mack Trucks as their own speaks volumes.
