The Motor Bus Society reprinted a history of mack buses done by Mack in the 1970's. You could contact MBS, and of course troll ebay as well. There are several dealers who sell MBS and other bus magazines. I have dealt both as seller and buyer with "4509bus", he's one of the god guys.

I am a long-time Mack bus fan, and may be able to help with some of your questions. My copy of the MBS Mack history is packed away "someplace safe" lol.

Does anyone know the history of Mack transit buses up to 1960?

You know, all about their engines and transmissions. I know there were engines like the END672 and transmissions like the Spicer 2-speed synchromesh V-drive transmission.

Thank you,

Ben (MackR700Fan)

I've only seen one Mack bus, and it was one that my uncle turned into an on site office on the land fill that he had in jersey years back. One thing I do remember is someone bought the motor, so we cut it out of the bus, it was one of those Lenova engines (not to sure of the spelling) but it said Mack Lenova engine on the motor BULLHUSK
