  1. Nice truck! The dash looks like it may have been a Brockway cab.
  2. Radial or bias belted. I'll get a price from the wholesaler I buy from and be in Lititz in three weeks.
  3. It started as a E6 350. No idea what it is now. I can tell you it will walk away from any 350 I've ever driven. 15 speed and air ride. It runs 65 mph at about 1400 rpm.
  4. I know what you mean Mike. I've seen too many slowly die from cancer.
  5. The stainless panels below the head lights and doors look like they were custom built. I have a brake and now a pattern. I can make them if you don't find them aftermarket.
  6. Thank you all. As soon as the truck is painted I'll find a fitting place and tribute to Harry.
  7. Where are you located? Are you looking for steering or drive tires?
  8. Last year I met Harry at the indoor flea market of a local car show. He just happened to be at a booth when I noticed a sensor unit for a Coats on the truck tire balancer. We started talking about how this thing worked and talked for an hour about trucks and specifically Mack trucks. Harry had spent most of the last 40 years working on Macks at a Mack dealer and UPS. What a wealth of knowledge! He said he just works part time now in his own shop and would be glad to look at my trucks and also rebuild a couple of engines for me. Then he told me he had been stuck with a pile of bills on a truck he needed to sell and maybe it was something I could use. So a couple weeks later I went out to see Harry and this truck. He told me everything he had done on it. Basically everything was new from the transmission forward. About 30 minutes on the out of frame rebuild. New front axle, radiator, steering box, headlight buckets and trim, compressor, ac system, and more that I'm probably forgetting. I tried to give him a check but he said he needed to be sure he could get the title first. He was taking a loss on the work he had into the truck but was glad it was going to someone who appreciated it and could use the truck. Harry worked on getting the title for the last year. I was out to see him a couple of times and we talked every few weeks about progress with the DMV and the County Clerks Office. He called me in July and said he finally received the ok to sell the truck. The sale was scheduled for last Friday and all the public notices had been made. One more visit to look at the truck and go over the paperwork. I talked to Harry until almost midnight that night. Looked like it was really going to happen. Then about two weeks ago Harry's brother in law called me and ask if I still wanted the truck considering what happened to Harry. What? Harry had changed the rear pinion seal on a tandem dump truck. All four wheels and tires were off the rear axle and why, we will never know, Harry was under it when it came off what ever was holding it up. I had very mixed emotions about the truck but Harry's wife wanted it out of there. So we did the sale as planed. I'll never be able to turn the key without thinking of Harry.
  9. They should tie a rope on that little shit so he doesn't get thrown out of the cab. My son started running my skid steer at about that age. He leaned against the seat and stood on the pedals. When he wanted to go backwards he just stood on the floor and turned around and ran the steering levers like he was going forward. He liked running an excavator better because he could sit in the seat and not worry about pedals. Most kids today are natural operators because they have grown up with a joy stick in their hand.
  10. Worked fine and looks good. Nice little truck and it's the right color.
  11. Randy, Good to know you're still vertical. Keep up the good work and welcome back.
  12. The Mack nine speed is .71 overdrive. The 5, 6, 7, & 8 speeds are .6 overdrive. With 5.05 rears you're stuck with what you have.
  13. The side mounts are ok for a wet line. The rear mount Mack PTO was designed for dump trucks where spreading was necessary. With the side mounts you must have the main stick in gear to run the pto and you can never get the speed of the truck to match the lift speed of the body for spreading. The rear mounts run without the stick in gear so you can choose any gear for spreading. They came in three ratios. Somewhere around 77, 99, and 124% of engine speed and were (are) expensive. About $2500 new and $1000 to $1500 used.
  14. I've had two six speeds with Mack PTO's. Both had a pneumatic cylinder on fabricated brackets to move the mechanical lever.
  15. Here ya go......... http://www.ebay.com/itm/MUNCIE-PTO-TG-SERIES-AIR-SHIFT-KIT-48M61250-/171098774001?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27d64819f1&vxp=mtr http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chelsea-Parker-PTO-Single-Acting-Air-Shift-Air-Actuator-Detent-Locking-329648X-/261156929569?pt=Other_Vehicle_Parts&hash=item3cce2a8021&vxp=mtr
  16. I'll be there for sure. After missing Macungie, I'm still having withdrawal symptoms.
  17. It's Brockway time. I'll be there Saturday. http://www.brockwaytrucks.org/

    Plan C

Plan D would be 10 gallons of fuel, two used car tires and a lighter.
  19. This is the place my best friend from college uses. He had the black CH Motorhome at Lititz last year. http://www.ruhlsframeandalignment.com/
  20. How far are you from Norristown? I know there is a shop there that can do it. Dayton wheels may be a problem. They can answer your 4/32 question also.
  21. Have you looked into having them shaved?
  22. Must be a severe cold option. Only thing I've seen like that on a fiberglass hood truck are the fake shutters on old R models.
