  1. A spot in the yard I hit with the mower? A flathead wallet drain?
  2. Do NOT forget a fire extinguisher. Wiring can dry out and it seems to be a favorite of rodents to chew on. Have a helper stand to the side with it and a cell phone.
  3. Having been at my Lieutenant position for a while on the boo-boo-bus I can say that this is one of the most f#*ked up situations. The waste and abuse has gone on for years and must be corrected but this isn't the way to do it. People call 9-1-1 for the dumbest shit that isn't an emergency. When the local EMS provider downgrades the call or refuses to transport then the idiot patients call a private. We won't refuse them because we can bill the 12 digit Ohio dignitary card. That fabulous card that the tax paying people provide. One time a patient asked that I get his wallet from the table, I asked where his money came from and his reply was that it was his from his check. I politely reminded him that he was carrying my money, that I worked for,and was taken from me, and i have no say so in how he spends it. As he WALKED to our ambulance in the parking lot downstairs he thanked us because a taxi is too expensive! Hellloooo,,,,a cab is what, 20 or 25 thousand new? A basic ambulance is about 90 thousand! An ambulance trip starts at $350 and can go way up,quickly. But he isn't paying it, we are! Then the flippin political rapists find any and all reasons to decline the payout. They won't tell you all the reasons at once, but one at a time. Do the call in January, bill it in February, denied in March, correct and resubmit in April, new decline in May,correct and resubmit again, wash, rinse, repeat. You might get money 9 monthes later. Insurance companies are worse. They pay what they think it is worth. So to survive this we have to bill some things higher to get paid what it should be and make up for the rest. If everybody goes on Government money, then who will provide the tax base to fund this? I'm sorry for venting but I do have some insight on this. I have gotton my ass in trouble with employers for telling patients where their fuckin bread is buttered from!!!
  4. Yes I'm still here. If my memory serves me correct, Rob should not be giving advice on anything fuel related as he forgets to put fuel in. Seriously though, start with the stupid stuff like air filters, clean injectors, and possibly a better exhaust. Anything that helps the engine breath will benefit. I have found out with my car that if it stays under 70mph the milage goes up a lot on the highway. it may be something that simple that gains a noticeable amount.
  5. Really....................YOUR truck has a lean on the DRIVER SIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would stop thinking about springs and think of the possibility of fitting railroad rail in place to prevent any more lean.
  6. I don't have internet at the house yet so I check at work every 3rd day. Holidays were good. My third grandchild was born 2 weeks before Christmas. He and mom are well. We are hoping that CSB returns the oldest one after that fiasco of my granddaughter dying from SIDS. All is well. I got some video of Faith but can't figure out how to save it from the disc to the computer so I can post it.
  7. Looking at the pics I would say that you lost some weight. Are you adding some reserve for the holiday expansion?
  8. welllll , a twelve cylinder Detroit is roughly the same power as an inline 6 !!!!
  9. Yep, try the passenger side rail just behind the spring hanger. It may be buried under layers of crud. Is the tag still on the seat base?
  10. That critter is still good cause the juice aint squeezed out, you can make the real gravey!
  11. How many times have we tried to warn you about gettin' mamma angry? You are not as atheletic as you were some years ago. I don't think you are faster than an angry frying pan.
  12. That is the correct wire code for the newer stuff. The older rigs have the positive to ground unless they been improved!!!!!
  13. My A30 has a flathead 330. I've seen it refered to as the EN331 in some books. My paperwork from Mack says it displaces 330 cubic inches. Rob,Larry, and B61 Fred have seen it and Rob even wondered if it was a Continental engine till I showed him the old Mack logo in the block. I think that the similarity in the engines is just the displacement. I have heard about Chrysler engines used as options including the 392 Hemi. I think 401 was the biggest flathead Mack engine.
  14. First thing I saw was the fiberglass Lund visor. Those things have a distinct look. I wonder what it was for because it looks to fit good.
  15. I refer all calls between 9PM and 7AM to Rob. He is usually up during those times as I have seen his posting times here. Try 1-800-EAT-MORE, 1-800-ALL-CRAP, 1-800-EAT-ANML, and lastly 1-800-KNW-ITAL.
  16. Yur spel chekker was off cause it is spelt "qwesstyuns". Eyem hear four ya!!!!
  17. If you are completly rewiring then dont worry about color unless you are going for a factory look. If you are doing a change over like I did and leaving stock wire and gauges in place then it is easy. Is you engine diesel or gas? That is a not a big issue but it wil help me walk you through it. I am finishing up a 1955 Dodge M152 ambulance right now and I am leaving the 24 volt starter and generator in place and doing everything else 12 volt.
  18. Could we leave the dumbasses in screw orleans when you fill it? If you are dumb enough to live near an airport, highway, railroad, or flood zone, then I don't want to here about your f#@k1ng problems when something happens. People around here buy houses near the airport a bitch about the noise. Same thing by the highway, now they get ugly sound walls. "Poor me, my house was destroyed in a flood, I live below sea level" too bad. Why should tax payers bail these people out. My insurance goes up because dumbasses live in earthquake and fire zones in Kalif#@ked up!
  19. I was always told no on diesel in a galvanized tank. It attacks the zink and breaks it loose sending it into the fuel system. It will then jam up parts like injectors and cause no good. If you look into replacement tanks for some pick-up trucks it will state "Not for diesel" because of this. I can't remember what it is in diesel that does this but I do recall it is a no no. Get yourself a 5 gallon plastic marine tank for a test stand. You will never have a problem of stale fuel when you remember to fill it!!!!!!!! LOL!!! Sorry, couldn't pass that up!
  20. I think that air tanks are generic as far as who got what. I bought a "bad" tank for $9.00, that was the scap price. It had weld goober in the fittings. Ran a pipe tap in, painted it, and presto, new tank.
  21. Duck or duct or 2" cloth medical?
  22. Drag racing is fun but midgets running track is way funnier! Congrats hippie!!!!!
  23. I use the purple stuff. East used it and tried the Panelite polish and the purple was easier and faster.
  24. Welcome aboard!!! I know both of those areas. Have family in Lima and Spencerville and years ago would go to Edgerton to pick-up trailers and deliver back to Canton area. It is sad what is happening to both of those areas. I have co-workers in Lima and they say the crime is getting bad. Bryan was hurt when Etch-A-Scetch went overseas.
  25. Just goes to show that there are still barn finds out there. You don't need your goods as they are just for decoration at this time. I think your life span is affected though. Think about bailing the Titanic with a coffee cup?
