  1. Sad to see her go. I know you were mixed emotionaly about selling. I still have the pic of it in my driveway.
  2. I saw you at 224 and Massillon Rd. We were heading to the bank in Hartville. I just finished my 24 in Akron and it was about 10ish. The wife saw you before I did. i don't know how she pulled that one cause it's usually my radar that finds old trucks.
  3. NICE!!!!!! I love the AB Macks. My favorite is the early B series. The BM is a good looking truck. Rob,,,, I know that your idea of a good bm is different than a Mack BM. I woul rather have a Mack BM in my driveway than a Rob bm.
  4. I had the good luck of seeing Larry pulling his race trailer on Saturday morning. The wife said "Hey look at that old Mack". I looked and saw the black and white B and said "That's Larry!". He just pulled off a red light and was into his 3rd gear and was only half way through the intersection! LOL!!!!! She looked good pulling that trailer.
  5. Yep,,,6 volt positive ground. They have quite a reserve capacity for cranking. A well running system only needs the battery to start the truck then the generator takes over. The battery then only needs to assist when the generator output is not enough such as sitting at a red light with all the lights on and the heater blowing. If you are happy with a 6 volt system they are fine as intended. I wanted the ease of replacing a blown light bulb anywhere and add a modern radio so I went with a 12 volt conversion.
  6. Well,,,,,,duh,,,,,you bought her a B model AND she has you working on it. Boy-oh-boy did momma train her right!
  7. I've always wanted to see the Iowa rally and take enough time to enjoy it. I would have to stop by Farmington Ill. on my way home. I did subscribe to the PWA for years but let it go when I lost my truck. I am still active on that forum as I haven't lost the passion. I had an older Holmes 500 wrecker assembly to mount on my truck. I thought it would be cool, 250' of 7/16 on the front winch and 350' on the 2 drums in back!
  8. The Cummins 4BT is a very popular swap into the Dodges. The 6BT engines are a little too long. I found one locally but I just don't have the money to replace my '47.
  9. I have often wondered about timing myself. My manual says 4 degrees before TDC for 75 octane fuel. I figure that the 87 is like putting super in. I am gonna try advancing my timing a tad just to see if it will use the extra octane for some power and economy.
  10. I am 100% sure that Nikki is WAY smarter than that.
  11. I don't live too far away from you. I am in Brewster on the south side of town. E-mail me your address and I might swing by with Faith someday. Glad to hear the B is doing better.
  12. You keep bringing home stray trucks and mamma is gonna make you sleep in the barn with them.
  13. Go for it. I had a '47 Power Wagon stolen a few years ago and haven't seen it since.
  14. Got a new medic to cover the first 12 hrs of my shift today, but I'm still on the clock getting crap done.

  15. Judging from the pics it appears that it is mostly complete. A lot of items are the same as the E model trucks. If the engine is a total loss then I would search out an older mechanical cummins 5.9 to put in. If you want a gas engine then I would go with a chrysler 440. It is a stretch but the 392 hemi was an option in some mack trucks! Gauges aren't too big a problem as they are common with other models. If the seats are trash then go with what fits and is comfortable. My A has a leather 3rd row bench from a dodge caravan.
  16. Glad to hear that she fired off without any major issues. It is all uphill from here!!!
  17. Yep, it's all good. We are getting ready for another big growth spurt at work. Lynn won't mow the yard. She doesn't like my riding mower and that darn compounded sofa gravity is tough to battle.
  18. Yep, draggin ass lazy. Gonna do my 24hr shift today then have new hire orientation for 6 hours tomorrow . Gonna go home and wash Faith so I can touch up some paint on saturday. Work my 24 on sunday then do the 3 parades on monday. So frikkin lazy I'll probably take a few naps in between all that. I even hired the neighbor to mow my grass!!!!!!
  19. Thanks Mike. It could take me about a week to get the info with my schedule.
  20. Try Chalmers in Pennsylvania. I don't have his info readily available but given some time I can locate it. Try searching that name here as i have posted his info before. I know that A and E cabs are the same but the gasket is probably different as the E has a tip-out windshield.
  21. Yes that was before I owned her. I took that on the day I picked her up. Yes it still looks that good. Had her out last night after installing a temporary electric fuel pump. Had to go that route for now because of parades and the lack of time to wait for a rebuild kit.
  22. fillin out workmans comp papers on an injured employee.

  23. ROOOOBBBBB!!!!!!!! Keep yur grubbin hands off mine! I'll leave a trail of donuts to throw you off!
  24. My boss at the towing company I was working for part-time did this. His KW900 is in the front. This isn't a rotator either. The procedure they are trying is called a california roll. I've done it many times successfully with a 1 ton and cars or pickups. It allows you to do this without putting your truck at a 90 degree to the crash. This is the only option when you don't have the room. The big fault here is your wrecker is suppose to be inline with the recovered unit when it lands.
  25. Sorry it's been a while. I've been overwhelmed with work and settling since our move in November. Faith is getting a fuel pump rebuild and should be on the road for memorial day. I'm pushing to get into the Football Hall of Fame parade this year. I'm sure your doctor told you to lose more weight but they need to understand that some people are what they are. I wish that you would take better care of yourself. The 550lb patient of ours had a heart attack and isn't doing well. he is only 43. The 900 pounder is still around but is having other health problems relating more to hygene. Get better Rob.
