  1. Good to have a new member. Post pics as soon as possible. We don't care about condition of the truck but sum peepole dun reed so guud an the pickturrs ar guuder!
  2. I would find a picture of your grandfather, maybe with the truck, and mount them all in a display frame. That would be honorable and fitting.
  3. Is that the back of Rob's garage? Other than a lot of surface rust it looks solid. Who cares about a title because it would be worth the time to get one.
  4. That is why she has low miles and the notch in the bottom of the grill. It was a front mount pump. Thanks.
  5. http://s381.photobucket.com/albums/oo259/g...rent=Faith1.flv Sorry about the quality, I shot this with my new cell phone.
  6. I just saw that you have the 707 gas engine. Cool. Let me know about the other things.
  7. Welcome. Is the truck already a 12v system? Changing is not difficult but requires attention to certain details. Is the truck gas or diesel? Give me more details and I can easily walk you through. A marine version of a stereo is not really needed unless you are storing the truck outside. What type of charging system does the truck have?
  8. Keep it up and you'll have alot more room in your underwear! Momma lops off more and you will have nothing to barter.
  9. You say belt, I say ratchet strap. You could use your evil genius constructive mind to convert the A40 to tilt wheel. For now though momma can drive and you continue to ride in the bed.
  10. Rob would have to remove the doors, sit in the middle, and steer left handed! I would bet the seat isn't reinforced enough nor does it get far enough from the wheel for him to fit! Remember why he drives a full size truck? I know cause I've SEEN the legend of chick magnets!
  11. What a complete waste of time, money, and paint. It would be more fun to have a rail buggy with the VW engine! Does it sound like my flathead Rob? Bet not!
  12. I run additive in every fill up. I only put a few hundred miles on per year but I rebuild my carb about every other year just because of sitting. I also use a stabilizer in the gas. Faith has the EN330 flathead.
  13. If'n ya hadnt bin luukin at purnoggraffy in da furst place dey wudn't blok it!!!!! It comes under home-and-garden webshots......................
  14. It must be your cornpewtur.
  15. Just by happenstance I was on Google Images and typed in 1951 Mack and the very first pic to come up is my truck. It was taken at a tractor show in Dover, Ohio. I dont know who took it but I thought it was kinda neat that it popped up.
  16. FIRE IT UP Seriously do NOT forget a fire extinguisher. Ask Rob what little critters can do to wiring that you can't see.
  17. Happy Fourth to all. Thank you to all the vets and their families. I spoke to my step-son tonight, he's a Marine, I did my time now it's his turn. Lynn and I are staying home and enjoying the night together.
  18. As I am not as familiar with newer trucks I would lean towards the cable. Cars have been using cable operated systems for some time and when it snaps you have no clutch. My actual first thought was spinach and a stair-master!
  19. The offset cab set-up in a straight truck application (dump/mixer) is called a "DM" . These were introduced in 1966. The offset cab tractor was introduced in 1965 as the "U" model to replace the "C" series. Page 144 of the History of Mack Trucks by Brownell. The only thing that I have seen on this truck that looks DM is the large opening in the front fender for the wheel. The U series used a fiberglass hood/fender that looked like modified R parts. So it is a DM due to the fender but is was converted to a tractor.
  20. Uuuuummmm, I may be way off base here and I do NOT claim to be an expert, but, I thought the offset cab tractors were called "U" models? This could have originally been a dump or mixer and was later changed to a tractor. This truck is so not original that I would think it was converted to a yard dog.
  21. I bet that I'm closer to Long Island than you!!!!!!!!
  22. This may sound stupid but I would put all of the old ignition parts back on . Then one at a time switch things and re-test. It is difficult to diagnose this on a 'puter without seeing. Also if it makes a hill of crap or not my plugs are Champion D21. Parts guys laugh when I ask about platinum tips!!
  23. I was upset also about the "over coverage" of him and she was sidelined. I think she was her best looking about 10-15 years ago. She did mature gracefully as did the other 2. She is now a true angel.
