  2. I'm guessing he started the pour with a PBR, can't be too hard on free help or they won't come back. Next weekend I should have the mill assembled and in place.
  3. Nah, KS is a straight shooter who I believe is trying to give honest sage advice to an owner operator shopping for trucks. If there is a problematic piece of drive train I'd want to know. Take the JK jeeps for example, the 3.8L is a pos that craps out way sooner than it should or others do. My wife wants one and we were casually shopping and an honest salesman told us to hold out for a used JK with he 3.6L because it is a far superior engine. I'm guessing owner operators have pretty tight margin of profit these days and if they can dodge down time and repairs by being informed on what they are looking at/for they will be far happier than buying a certain brand that causes them headaches.
  4. Looks damn tasty OD. What kind of smoker? I've got a homemade one out of an old 50's era upright freezer. I can fit 4 turkeys in it at once. I have a killer brine that I soak the turkey in for a week before smoking my it.
  5. Had to go up to the cabin with Grampa to unload his trailer full of "treasures". I can't get the dang pic of the bear tracks walking down the road in front of the cabin to upload.
  6. Saw a pretty sunrise i decided to buy a sawmill and had to dig some holes to pour footings to put the sonotube piers on my buddy starting the pour a crazy tail steering contraption for moving pre built irrigation pivot sections a pretty moon
  7. Coronado is a fairly stylish traditional looking truck. The only complaint I had about cascadias is the interiors (if memory serves me correctly) had no screws holding things together and after many hard off-road miles things in the interior started loosening up and rattling with no way to tighten them back up. Just for full disclosure the years of the model I'm thinking of was around 08-10 I believe and I understand our company uses the hell out of our fleet off road.
  8. Huh, can't say I didn't see that coming.
  9. I agree. I brought the situation up at a quarterly safety meeting and the bosses told us if we ever feel it's too slick out to have a tag down to lift it and they will pay the fine because it would be cheaper than a wreck.
  10. I agree and understand you and I've had a butt chewing from our local dot officer for lifting my tag axle on my tractor which is almost exactly halfway between my steer and drivers so I can get enough steer tire traction to make 2 ninety degree (right and left) turns in less than 100' on slick snow packed roads with a truck over 100' long. I tried explaining that even at slow speeds (under 7mph) that long bugger pushes and doesn't turn when loaded making 2 ninety degree turns on a slight down hill grade. He told me it's the law and I need to keep my tag down.
  11. As long as you're on private land you could drop air from the tag legally to gain traction. We get tickets here if we get caught with a light or lifted tag.
  12. But you forgot that there are special rules for certain people or groups that do not apply to the majority of us. Just jump the border and you have "rights" and SS bennies available to you, free housing, food cell phones and if you make babies you get more money and if ANYBODY says that isn't right they're are a bigoted hate monger trying to capitalize on poor people of a different ethnicity.
  13. Sharp looking truck. I wonder how much it costs to ship them over seas and if it's worth it? I wouldn't think it would be cost effective to ship a truck over here but I've been wrong before.
  14. Yeah lots of well timed rains this year.
  15. Prime example. Definitely have worse ones but you get the idea
  16. Over zealous farmer fenced in the county right of way. Farmers are notorious for seeding literally up to the containment dikes at our leases which the producers lease so many acres around each tank battery. No one even cares but the farmers whine when we drive on the road into the lease and squish some wheat.
  17. Winter wheat harvest is just getting kicked off here in Montana. Lots of green spring grains and pulse crops though. Wheat field ready to harvest. A couple of fields with a boat load, er make that many many truck loads of hay
  18. They should just buy Kenworth. That way, they'd save money by only changing one letter on the hood emblem.
  19. It's funny things like stop and frisk which worked wonderfully and took many ILLEGAL firearms off of the street makes the public uncomfortable because the majority of people getting frisked and weapons taken off of them around problem areas in the city were minorities. Diblasio stopped that. Now we are back to square one with "leaders" of minority communities stamping their feet and asking the police, government and news anchors what are you going to do to stop the violence?! I respect everyone on here and their views this is just food for thought. where's the outrage against tying LEO's hands and perpetuating the violence in these areas by doing nothing. By no means am I condemning any one group, religion, race etc. this is just one example of the ridiculousness going on in our world.
  20. Hypocrites. Didn't they make a big stink about Trump saying up front he wasn't sure if he'd back the gop candidate if he wasn't nominated? At least he was honest about it.
  21. Couple of things come to mind when I look at those pics. I'd bet the chance of a mass shooting is far less because the cowards that do the shootings look for the defenseless populated areas. Are those open carry protesters calling for anarchy and death to police officers or any other group? There are far more alchohol related deaths than assault rifle deaths but the government isn't trying to ban alchohol. My personal belief is however we look at it good or bad citizens being able to own guns is what set America apart from other countries. It truly made/makes us free. My fear is once the left bans one gun, that won't be enough and they'll keep on trying to ban until we are an unarmed public that is completely dependent on whatever stipen they give us.
  22. I'm with you there Kevin. Just because open carry is legal it doesn't necessarily mean it should be practiced. I have a carry permit and no one besides my wife and I know I'm carrying. The element of surprise in an emergency could be a good thing in my mind. I'll play devil's advocate as well. Are legally armed, peaceful protesters anymore dangerous than Muslim, KKK or Black Panthers (or Black Lives Matter today)?
  23. All these attacks makes me glad I choose to carry. At least I may have a fighting chance.
  24. Looks like you had a great weekend. I really enjoyed the pics, thanks for sharing.
