  2. ya,,but dont forget,,the last time we started talking about drilling here,it dropped way down just like it did this time...maybe we should dig all our own,and tell the arabs to stick it..and drop it to 2 bucks a gallon,or so,,, i dont personally care about the price,dont use to much of it,,but i feel for all you guys,that are struggling to fill your big diesel tanks...these discusting prices,just cut into all your fun money,,,and nobody with any power seems to care...bob

  5. i remember them,,i grew up in the boston area,,and they were every where,,mostly red macks.sorry dont have any other information,,but im sure deregulation killed them,like the rest of the good company,s..now were all workin for peanuts,,and no more pentions..good luck bud.im trying to find photo,s of beacon fast freight,cant find anything but hats,and patches..bought them from a guy in florida,,but i think he died,dont see his ads anymore...keep trying bubba

  10. well,all that aside,i didnt know,they were still using no turbo engines in 67..ive owned 5 macks,and did a few inframes,, but i dont claim to be an expert,it was all in conversation..also im out of practice ive been driving cummins trucks the past 20 years.hehe,thanks for the update...from 66 to 94 when i bought it,i suppose they could have done alotta changes,i was only 10 when it was new,and too far away to notice,,,bob

  16. i thought the t was turbo,,got that rite from a mack employee like 20 years ago,,this truck has got me crazy now,,,ive got manuals i bought in 82,,but thier buried...i was hoping someone else could fill him in,but if not, i could go dig them out..bob

  19. wow,,looks good..i sold one just like it..back in 83...was my first truck..certainly learned alot on it.about repairing macks,was a good experiance..only thing i didnt like,was it only had a 180,no turbo..was ok on the flatlands..bob
  20. i think its a 250 hp,,but im not sure it should be a end673 for that year.. its cubic inches,,u need to buy a motor manual,,it will give you all the specs,and show you were the id numbers are..also if your having trouble finding those sock oil filters,mack sells a conversion kit for spin ons.welcome aboard,and lotsa luck with it..bob
  21. rode in a U600 with my dad,excellant memorys,especialy sounds of that engine,then learned to drive on a U600,also owned one later on in years,as well as a F model,Rmodel,and a cruiseliner,all as an owner operater,,now i drive for fedex freight,and own a DM600,just as an antique fixer upper..looking forward to getting it all nice again...bob

  25. all,you really need is a power steering box,and a add on pump,,you can usually find those parts,in a wrecking yard..everything for around $500.bucks..keep your eyes peeled on this sight for people parting out,older macks,or run a wanted ad...good luck..bob
