  6. I think the roughest truck I ever drove bobtail was fedex T800 single axle spring suspension even with a loaded box they were rough riding on a rough road .. bob

  8. i was curious myself,,,couldnt find anything either,,,from what i remember,,,GMC was a pretty big part of the trucking world,,,then volvo combined them,,and white and then they disappeared..
  9. I do distinctly remember law transportation as a kid they were many of them running around my town mostly C and U model box trucks delivering
  10. They were quite a few really good companies that dropped out I moved out here 45 years ago and my memory is fading. Probably why I don’t remember them, but they’re starting to ring a bell.

  12. That’s very interesting. I don’t know what happened to him and did not follow the entire story but I do remember all of a sudden he was everyone’s enemy… what do they say…. One extreme to the other

  14. we call that a plus 3 cab over here paul,,,,,but in some applications,,,,they continued the straight cab,,,,i had an 87 U model that had the straight back,,,,was the first thing i noticed when i was looking at it for sale,,,,besides the fact it had factory AC,,power steering and a stereo woohoo

  17. well back at it,,i made up this tool to get the end cap off,,but manual says supposed to drill out the locking pin,,i have the correct size drill bit,,,and it just stops around 5/8s inch in,,,,and this thing has been apart before,,,and im not sure what the other guy did here

  21. Wound up moving 60 miles away though that’s the way it works in LA. Everything is so expensive down there. You have to move far away from town to afford anything. It’s pretty much the same way everywhere now though.
  22. That’s excellent. I did have three jobs as a teenage kid that were within a mile of my house. I had one trucking job in LA. That was very close as you said just a few minutes. Sure, makes it nice.
  23. I read somewhere in 66 they continued the manufacturing the B model on account of they had so many parts they needed to use up a bunch of them… so people were probably getting a really good deal on the last years model at that time
  24. That was very interesting. I’m glad more and more people are aware of these things that I was wondering if they were picking them up on radars or do some of them just sneak on through without being detected.
