  1. funny thing was i paid $1,600 for it gladly ,,,bone stock original condition....i decided to get rid of it because it had the traditional farm tractor 50 mph rearend and i was moving trying to lighten the load,,,you you believe back in 1986....i couldnt give that thing away,,,,wound up trading someone for a yamaha 1100 straight across.then i couldnt unload the yamaha,,would up trading back for 59 chevy flatbed.....strange things happen sometimes...bob

  3. It’s just going to have possibly a small exhaust leak. I don’t think it’s anything to worry about. Removing Head is the best solution which is a lot of work… Bob

  5. Yes, it’s amazing what they offer these days, especially sheet metal last I checked you could buy a complete floor with rocker panels for a 55 bel air I expect it’s the same with those… after a lot of years I wish I had kept the 48 1 owner low mileage, 1 ton 9 foot bed Bob.

  20. If I were you, I would try to contact that fellow that’s taking up part to be models. One engine is no good. I’m sure you remember him. I am sure he’s going to part out the bad engine. Good luck.
  21. We all have the same issue with the photographs. I don’t know what’s up with that sometimes they will take mine and sometimes they won’t. Sorry I don’t have any suggestions for the spacer. Good luck partner…. Bob
  22. Too bad I didn’t have a smart phone back then I could just snap a picture of it. All we had was a Kodak swinger ha ha I’m sure you remember those. Also I did mention I was also putting together a DM 800 not sure if I mentioned, I built the same model while I was only 15…. Bob
  23. I’ve had a soft spot for them ever since my dad took me down to his work and 1967 to see the first brand new,U model they bought beacon fast freight. I was only 11 he used to sneak me a board on Friday nights a lot 69 through 73 excellent time for a young boy. Great memories then I owned two of them myself.U and DM but yes, we thought they were a little odd the first few times we saw them bob
