  1. Nice picture Al. I remember when they were still running them. I have some old 8mm footage transferred to VHS of these. I'll have to check and see if I have video of this one. Looks like this one could of had a leaking rear wheel seal.
  2. Neat Al. I like it just as well not all prettied up! I think those air cleaners out behind the bumper are just cool. I see they kept the wide stripes on the bumper.
  3. I suppose they may be getting hard to find. It seems like they all use detachable gooseneck around here now. I had a chance about 5 years ago to buy one like that but it was a tandem. I passed on it and don't know where it ever went.
  4. After posting pictures of an Autocar and a Mack, I better get back on track with another Hendrickson. This one was taken late 80's or early 90's and was out of Lacrosse, Wi. I don't remember much about it but I think it was "Wrecker of the Month" in an early Overdrive Magazine. Jake
  5. Al, I got to be good friends with some of the guys and even got to drive a couple of their trucks. They told me if I wanted to see some big equipment I should come down to Plain in the late fall when it's all back home! Never made it though. Here is another one of their loboys. Taken in mid to late 70's. Jake
  6. I couldn't read this without getting the sniffles. Bless you randyp!
  7. Don't know where they went Al. Kraemer sure had a great looking fleet. Some real impressive stuff. None of it ended up in this direction that I know of as I never noticed any around here. Now they hire all hauling done. They even hire their crusher moved. I know this is about Hendricksons but here is a picture of their twin steer Autocar. Mark Weltey gave me this picture. Jake
  8. Here is a 1968 White 4000 that my son bought when he started his business back in 1998. It's a 220 Cummins with a 10 speed Roadranger. It's done a pile of work and he still has it. Now he only uses it occasionally off road.
  9. Here are a couple of Hendricksons that were owned by Ed Kraemer & Son of Plain, Wi.(now The Kraemer Co.) Photo is from 1970.
  10. Brian, Many years ago we had to get our truck in the Mack garage down by Sox stadium in Chicago. Is this the same one or is that one still there? Jake

I hate to admit how little I know about them. A friend of mine travels all over the west for his job and likes old iron too. When he gets free time he runs the back roads looking for old iron. He knows I like Macks so he lets me know if he finds any. I've known a bout them for about three years but I had a lot of things going on and had to wait awhile. He looked them over and took the pictures and said they were great shape. I only have one serial number because he opened one door and took a picture of the data plate. The owner said they ran good but he bought them, drove them home and parked them. He told me that when we pick them up, plan on spending the day because he had lots to show us. He said he had over a hundred farm tractors in his collection. This same friend found a B53, a B53 parts truck, a BCR for me and a B53 and three Valueliners for my son, about four years ago and they turned out OK. I guess I don't feel too bad about not seeing them first .I trust his judgment. He also found my LTL in Montana and that turned out well. I asked the owner what powertrain they had and he couldn't remember but said he knew they were all Mack. I'll be a lot smarter when we get them home! My son transports propane in the winter and does excavating in the summer so I'm thinking maybe the end of March. Maybe I should call Al and Mark Trukin!

Mike, these are F786's. Don't know the year yet. I bought them this week. Now I got to get them home.
  13. This was "Hilltop" on US 10, in Wisconsin about 15 miles from the Minnesota border. They had one fuel pump, only gasoline. The main building was a bar and the old streetcar was converted into a diner. The photo was taken in the early 1950's.
  14. Thanks Al. I just learned how to scan photos on this thing. Maybe I can contribute a little now. I got lots of pictures.
  15. Maybe this could have gone on the "Jersey Macks" thread. A retired trucker from my home town gave me this photo. He said he used to stop there when he went out east. May be some one on here will recognize the location. Jake

Mark, I thought you were going to say the "Bulldog" on the first truck. The story that I heard was they came originally from New Jersey and were used to haul the mail. That explains the spokes. They were used in Wyoming to haul hay. I suppose they thought it was safer without a stack. Jake
  17. I just got back from running the wife to work. The thermometer is on -28.
  18. In October I was getting some parts for my BCR at a junk yard in southern Minnesota. They were busy cutting up some old bread trucks and I told them I was looking for some Mack parts. I asked them if they ever cut up any old Macks. They said any Macks that will run, no matter how poor, go to the exporters. The others are dismantled and put in shipping containers and sent to Africa. Kinda depressing. Jake
  19. Hi Martin21, I have a pair of front fenders off my 1964 B 61 that I removed when I found a better set. They are not in great condition and would need work. You can let me know if you are interested and maybe I can send you a picture. Jake
  20. Mine also shifts like a 13 speed triplex. It's a TRQ7220.
  21. In 1974 I drove a new F Model tandem with steer axel brakes. That was the first tandem that I ever had them on. Then the '74 had an air toggle switch to cut the air to the steer axel for slippery roads.
