PZ1, He had a lot of stuff. Mostly older farm tractors, trucks, cars, and snowmobiles. I didn't see any more Macks. I walked around and took a few pictures.

Yes Bobby they sure must be. They are straight 5 speeds and I believe they are 300's. I haven't had the cabs up yet. Under the red paint I can see traces of grey with blue on the bottom. The horn button on one says, "Custom Built For Overnite Transportation Co. They are 1976 models and the guy I bought them from said they originally came from out east. Can you tell me anything about them? Jake
  5. Did ya notice Al, we didn't want the doors to come open on the front one either!

That's what I thought too. Out there it must mean save em. There was an old Frieghtliner parked next to them that had the big white X too.

Ya Mike we did! It's my son's Pete and he's a Mack fan too but he had to kid me and say it's probably as fast as those Macks ever went. LOL He wants one. They are a lot better shape than I have seen around here in years. I'm really pleased with not seeing them first. They have had some body work done some time ago but they are really solid. I used to run over the road in one with a poorer cab than these. They are both kinda ratty inside. The headliners have fallen down. They sat for about six years and I threw some batteries in one and it fired up like it was just shut down.

  14. Thanks Al. That was what it looked like the day I got it. The rear drive axel is chained up and we drove it out of there that way. Ive been working on it all winter. Its red now. Ill post some recent pictures later. Jake
  15. Nope Mark, not just you. I don't care for it either.
  16. I just bought a new one off ebay for the buy it now price of $68.50.
  17. I watched this one happen. The hill in the background is a couple miles long at 7% and 9%. The driver got his brakes hot and shot across the bridge and through intersection and went over a block into town. The brakes couldn't hold it and it came back down the block backwards and over the retaining wall. There's a Ford Pinto under the trailer.
  18. The first Mack that I drove for wages was a 1951 LJ with a 673 and a full 15 speed triplex. One week earlier I did my road test in a 1964 C Model, 711 and a 13 speed triplex. June 1968. Jake
