  1. Happy Birthdays to all! You share it with my man the godfather of soul: James Brown and ol' White Christmans: Bing Crosby! Luce-y tractor - I hope you are singing a happier tune today than when you broke down in Mt. Airy? So Jocko, how many more until you get to drink (legally)?
  2. Ha! It looks like the Hog is taking the Hog out for a spin?
  3. I think you now have proof that you are not a VIP? Otherwise it would fit you fine............
  4. Beautiful, beautiful truck - better than it left the factory I bet! You mention Winchester Va - I bought a bunch of right-of-way clearing surplus equipment from the local electric company there many moons ago, I really liked the country around there, and I was surprised how pretty and rural it still was being that close to DC. I much prefered to go west instead of east from Winchester!
  5. Thats right - that's the ticket! I also screwed up in that I did not think to chock the wheels of the cars on either side of it? This fire fighting stuff gets complicated.
  6. Keep looking..................
  7. The same guy is also selling this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/The-Beast-Custom-Built-/290705921301?pt=Other_Vehicles_Everything_Else&hash=item43af6c5515 I think he needs an intervention.
  8. That cabover Pete looks like it is coming to get you...............
  9. I was driving in my Jay-pan truck and I look over at a factory parking lot (where I scavenge plastic pallets) and it has a dumpster on fire - black rolling smoke and flames jumping 10 feet high - my months supply of plastic pallets are really cooking! I see a bunch of folks standing around with 2.5 pound extingushers watching the cars parked a foot away on either side start to have the paint smoke and bubble. So I whip in, grab a chain, hook up to the end of the dumpster, and take off with it down the drive towards a big vacant parking lot. It all worked fine until I forgot to stop before the speed bump - the dumpster hit it, flipped upside down and slung burning trash all over the place. Oh S^%T! But they now can spray with their toy extinguishers each individual buring item and they get it out. Then the front office folks want to know who is going to clean it all up - I unhook my chain, get back in my truck and as I drive off I tell them that they should have the people whose cars I saved start picking the crap up. I am out of here! I went back by on the way home and they had moved the dumpster to a safer spot with no cars, and now the snowplow guys don't have to worry about the center of the speedbump. The fire department called to say thanks, but the factory folks didn't - A holes.
  10. Justincase - I hope this is not the crummy truck you are thinking of buying?
  11. That sounds like good news! The bad side is that now we have reopened this thread and I had to view Ms. Lushious again! Let us know how it goes..........
  12. What model boom is it? A friend of mine bought a 7500 Serco and loves it.
  13. Looks good! I hope you did not get any flying debris on that fine looking truck in the background. The trees make a nice backdrop for your photos - you get extra points for that! I used to pull a 40 foot gooseneck like that one with a kingpin behind a 8100 IHC tractor, the COOL factor was not near as high on mine, nor the comfort level either. I bet you will like that setup.
  14. He used it all up on his B model!
  15. So in Illinois you have different trailer weight license plates to choose from? In Misery Missoura Missouri the truck just has to have a plate heavy enough to handle the truck plus whatever you are pulling. Which is nice as you then don't have to worry if you have too much weight on the truck but not on the trailer and vice versa.
  16. That is correct - I never think about having a plate even on a pickup that is less than 26,000 pounds, I always license everything as heavy as I can, it is a lot cheaper than the tickets. Even the little Jay-pan truck gets a 26,000 pound plate: Which is also nice for pulling a trailer legal and also when I do stuff like hauling three concrete blocks for a silage pit that weigh 2800 pounds each: The first load I hauled two to try it out. Which was not too much weight, so this load got three. That makes five down and 195 to go - I really wanted to try putting four blocks on, but the loader operator started to whine about it.
  17. In Missouri, if you run with a kingpin in any trailer, you can license it with permanent plates, which is a big savings in time, trouble, and expense - you can only get plates you have to renew on one with a gooseneck ball.
  18. Sad story - God rest his soul - there is a good man with a wife and kids whose life was cut short - we should appreciate we are all here, but be ready to go.
  19. So former owner does not know of any work done to the engine and driveline in the last 30,000 hours? If you have no information on what has been done, then those start seeming like an awful lot of time on the truck. Just-in-case it has been used for this before, I would ask if it has been used to pick up a dead moose or not? I hear tell that is hard on them sometimes..............
  20. I thought during your haitus from here the last few weeks that the guys in the white suits cured you of that hearing phantom voices thing? I would try and get a refund if I were you.........
  21. I never even looked at that crap on the side......... sorry! I was actually trying to find out the history of the Owatanna farm equipment company so I could determine when they were bought out by Gehl. I have a Gehl baler a guy wants to buy and it has half Owatanna and half Gehl paint and decals on it - must have been made right when they changed ownership. My local Gehl dealer even could not tell me. I search for Gehl hay baler and I find Rob running around naked and diving into a hay baler. Still no luck on the Gehl baler history thing.............
  22. You can kid yourself in the dark, but I and most of the folks on here I bet have bigger titties than that
