  1. oh its a shame it anit closer to me it has a 2 stick 6 spd in a Single axle . that's what id like to have for a single axle Dump truck right there .
  2. ya as I said in my status I don't know if all 3 randys are the stooges or the musketeers .... We had a hell of a thred going on Fb last night . He said to tell everybody Hi if I made here before he did as he told me in a pm he was gonna make an appearance on BMT . BUT the site was down fer awhile last night .
  3. ya there was a guy that hung out in the bottoms in North Memphis a few yrs back had a 4WD Ford bronco II he put a 4b cummins in it . sure sounded different . he would also come up to My neck of the woods & mud . my cousin was buddies w/ him but I knew him enough just to speak to him that was it .
  4. That was my thinking ...lol & its a Volvo & they are backwards anyway ...
  5. A woman after my own heart : 1 who likes to play in the mud . Breaking stuff I can understand that 1 that gets into $$ . getting out wasn't too bad when I was mudding cause where I was mudding @ there was a 750B Wide track John Deere Dozer w/ a carco winch near by that belonged to family friend or my pops D6D wide track Cat w/ Hyster winch . I Miss that ole 84' K3500 GMC W/ 454 & 4SPD W/ granny gear , 205 transfer case 4:56 GEARS , cherry bombs, & buckshot mudders. & 12,000lb warn winch . it was my service truck it was gear bound about 58 to 60 mph but would pull everything you put on it or behind it including the gas station . I Didn't mud in it much on purpose it was my service truck & I would save the 4wd most of time for the farm fields or job sites when we had a piece of equipment down & I didn't have any other choice but to walk that Jimmy out to the equipment . I miss it for the pulling power but not the MPG . but id get calls on the weekend from my brother & friends to pull others out & I made a lot of money on the weekends just pulling folks out in the local bottoms as I had boomer chains on the truck @ all times along w/ the winch & scotch blocks . & make that ole 454 w/ cherry bombs scream Cleaning up never bothered me as I was always on Hot washer pressure duty cleaning our trucks & equipment & had the rain suit for it . & never had Alcoa wheels so what I had to polish back up wasn't much @ all All this talk about muddin is making me want another 4wd .
  6. Found this on the Memphis CL : Yall check out the 5th wheel on this truck http://memphis.craigslist.org/hvo/4001414379.html
  7. Nice Find . My family made a Many a dollar w/ a DM Bulldog (Dump)
  8. Squirrel Stew : 2 Squirrels cut in pieces 2 Table spoons butter 1 large onion sliced thin 1 large can stewed tomatoes salt , pepper flour melt butter in saucepan over medium heat . add onion & cook till transparent . Add tomatoes , simmer 5 minutes with onion add meat & enough boiling water to cover . season w/ salt & pepper continue to cook til meat is tender thicken the broth w/ flour & water & bring to a boil . this recipe was given to me by a buddy . its a pretty good recipe but I sometimes tweak it to my taste . (i.e.: like I make mine almost like a mulligan stew in a pot & add taters , corn red pepper & celery in mine) sorry It took me a minute or two . I type a little slow due to a mild case of Cebral palsy on my left side & only type w/ my right hand . I will have to dig the baked squirrel recipe out tomorrow .
  9. Nice looking Truck . are those 315/80/R22.5 Steer tires on the front ?
  10. I usually put mine in a stew now . Though I have a cousin that will fry it up & its good like that too .
  11. got up drank 2 glasses of ICE COLD WATER Then worked on a pot of caffeinated 15W40 ate a couple boiled eggs & turkey sausage . today is my splurge day & rest day & I didn't even cheat today though I was allowed . guess ive got used to eating a certain way now . Went outside picked me some maters for BLT Sandwiches & while I was @ it I picked my Jalapenos . Carried trash to dumpster & played on the laptop the rest of the day & sucked up my cold A/C . Yesterday was opening day of Squirrel season & its just too damn hot to hunt right now let alone fish . been a lazy day today .
  12. Hope he gets better soon . miss seeing him around on BMT
  13. I Don't about Detroit doing Exorcisms @ the end of assembly line but that is sure what they needed to do @ the Chrysler plant back in 1958 When Christine was Built . BTW Christine was my grandmother's name (the 1 that raised me) & thought twice about getting in trouble w/ her after that movie came out .
  14. I Often wondered what happened to those R models Mr. David had . Good to know those trucks are still here in the Mid South . I Remember when he ran for Congress . he talked w/ a lot of sense & thought he would do a lot of good for N.Ms myself . He seems like a laid back fella . & Ya your right it takes a hell of a man to drive a pink truck . but id drive a pink truck in honor of a friend who like a 2nd mother to me & who passed years ago from Brest Cancer. I remember JTW Had a Couple of Peach Colored R Models back in the day . I almost bought 1 for a lowboy tractor when pop talked me into buying a GMC Brigadier Another R Model Id love to get my hands on is the 85 OR 86 R686 Tandem dump WS Jordan had for years . Used to know the driver for that truck & that truck was his baby . though it had a 9spd Road Ranger the rest was Mack drive train & that ole 350 Mack w/ 5" straight pipe sounded good coming out of the pits loaded .
  15. Yup Id say so . Jake : Are you talking about Estes out of Ms that hauls out of Metal management in North Memphis ? I Don't know him personally but he sure has some good looking R Models under those dump wagons . When I 1st started seeing his trucks around Memphis I thought they were Jimmy T Wood R Model Mack's because the paint jobs on his & JTW Are about the same . & JTW was still running R Models @ that time . Here are 2 pics of a couple of Bulldogs my pop & myself had through the years The Red Sleigh (dump) & Old Dog (my name sake ) The Red sleigh got its name cause the driver was white haired w/ a white beard & looked like a thin Santa clause (that was his handle on the cb). that truck wound up outside of Houston Tx after the probate court ordered everything sold after pops death in April 2005. Old Dog is safe here in the back woods of Millington under a farm shed & is owned now by a friend of the family who farms . that reminds me I need to go visit my buddy who owns old dog now & my ole family member (old dog) see how the restoration of the truck is coming along . Trying to find the pic of Red Dog (our 77' DM 685S Tandem Dump pop had for years ) I wish I had a dollar for every load of dirt Superman (the driver for Red Dog) hauled w/ that truck .
  16. Amen Brother My thoughts exactly . Yep it sure is Vin . id rather have the older Dogs than the newer dogs myself . breaks my heart to see the older bulldogs go overseas & we stuck w/ trucks w/ all the emission crap on them .
  17. IM out of Likes but I like this Ernie !! & AMEN BROTHER !!!! A BIG UP ON THAT 10-4 !!!

I see they warned you about OD Already & All this talk about food is gonna make me talk to my buddies to find a load of Casings to the nearest BMT Members house who is having the BBQ so I can join in on the fun before hauling ass back to The Bluff City (Memphis ) w/ the load of casings .
