  1. Doug - never saw a MH base on Fleabay but there is always a chance. Ben - the MH uses a different mounting base then most other trucks (see pic). I might just put my 1/2" impact wrench on the Bulldog screws and go for it. I will start with my HF POS and work my way up to the the BIG one! Something is going to give. Afterall a chrome replacement "dog" is less then $50 on Fleabay.
  2. Thanks! I will give it a try.
  3. I called my local Mack dealer and got the price of the mounting base. My cost is $136. More PB Blaster!
  4. OD Tom - you need to be careful stopping to pickup hitchhikers!
  5. Here is a 1975 RL model for sale on Minneapolis Craigslist for $4500, see ad for photos: http://minneapolis.c...3366068873.html Never heard anything from the owner...tonight I see the ad has been deleted....oh well, next time! I just saved at least $4500.
  6. Vinny - what do you use for a search engine?
  7. "one" is the key word!
  8. Another hobby (expenditure) forum
  9. I lubed it up (the Bulldog) tonight with PB Blaster. I will leave it (the Bulldog) soak over the weekend and try again next week. Just for clarification...I am talking about the Bulldog! I am afraid the "lady" might break more than the Bulldog's leg and it might hurt.
  10. Great pic and welcome to the insane asylum!
  11. We are all in this together!
  12. Nice pics but disappointed there are no "seat cover" shots. Of course it is cold up north.
  13. Is that the Vinnster's "before"? I see the driver's side mirror is bent. It must have fell on its side!
  14. what is the number? BR549?
  15. Nice truck...too bad it is not a 3408.
  16. It is interesting to see fuel prices declining even with a hurricane. Must be an election soon! Any other time there is turbulant weather or even talk of turbulant weather, fuel prices seem to increase big time! Just sayin'
  17. But I can't get the mounting bolts loose either. The mounting bolts use encapulated nuts that are bonded in the cab. I will try Blaster but heat may be an issue. I don't want the fiberglas cab to go up in smoke.
  18. Yes...EM7-300
  19. Some of you may not like what I am thinking of doing but... I want to replace the chrome Bulldog with a gold Bulldog. The chrome is the correct one but I thought about a gold one since my MH is 100% Mack. Now for the question...how in the blue blazes do I get the old one off? It has security torx screws (T25). I have the correct bit and using a battery powered driver. The screws will not loosen. I am afraid to use alot of torque for fear of breaking the dog's legs. I thought about removing the base and drilling out the screws but the screws holding the base on are also not coming loose. Any suggestions other than "don't do it"? P.S. I am checking on the base availability from my dealer but that still does not help since I can't remove the old base. Thanks!!
  20. Is your Nurse Practioner taking new patients? Colonoscopy itself is not bad (they put you to sleep during the procedure - at least they did me). Its the preparation the day/night before the procedure that is the killer.
  21. Nice! What year is it?
  22. Contact the Mack Museum and get a copy of the build record.
  23. Found these pics on the internet (blue one is a V8)
