  1. Double wrench the fitting if you can otherwise you can break the fitting. V
  2. Sounds like the EGR is stuck open. What I would do is remove the EGR pipe coming out from the EGR cooler. See if there is flow exiting the cooler. See if it makes any difference with the engine operation. V
  3. Does this vehicle have a primary fuel filter (fuel water separator) Davco or Racor type brand? If the primary side (suction side of the fuel system has a breach, then the symptoms will be identical as bad injector cups. I am not saying that the cups are a wrong diagnostic, I am just saying that there are other issues that will cause the same issue. Just make sure you get the correct diagnostics done as mentioned above. V

    Etech 400

The ASET came out in late 2003. With all the flaws the E-Tech had, looking back they were actually very good. V
  5. I had a customer complaint of oil being pumped out of the breather on a 1996 Ch613. Air tanks had oil in them as well. After checking it out it ended up being the piston in the air compressor having a hole in it. V
  6. With my experience, I have found that the oil wicks from the fuel injector connection plugs. Also the insulation that covers the injector harness become brittle and flake off. Over time this gives an opportunity for oil to wick through the harness into the engine ECU plug. ECU sends its signals through ECU connector A and usually oil is found there. If you didn't find any oil coming out from any other sensor touching engine oil, then its a sure bet that the oil is coming from under the valve cover. V
  7. No need to have a coolant filter installed with Long Life Coolant. It already has additives installed. If you install a coolant filter, then you run the risk of damaging internal engine components. If you decide to have a coolant filter installed then you will have to switch to green coolant. V
  8. Are the wires connected through the cover? May have 2 different issues. Low fuel pressure causing erratic idle?? V
  9. You have a fault for the J1587/1708 data lines. Disconnect power from all non Mack Modules (ABS, Satellite) first. See what happens. V
  10. The housing is resealed with silicone. Dont forget to make sure that the upper timing cover is flat with the cylinder head when you reinstall it. Otherwise you will create another oil leak. As for the job, it is pretty straight forward. V
  11. E7 300 Engine Eaton Fuller Transmission RTX1170C Rockwell Differential 4.10 axle ratio VMAC 1 Electronics I cant access the warranty side to see the in service date. V

    EUP broke

2 days for a visual?? As long as the locating pin for the EUP follower is not broken, then I would just replace what is broken and run the truck. Then see hat happens. Just my 2 cents. V
  13. What is the boost pressure when the engine is under load? I have seen boost pressure sensors cause this issue as well. V
  14. What you are speaking of is called a "Mode Box". I think you are correct in suggesting that the air direction flaps are the issue. Those were very prone to seizing. V
  15. Sure is a good truck. Maintenance is really important on these trucks. Check the service history on the unit. These vehicles had low power issues that were addressed in the forums here. V
  16. CHU was not introduced in 2001. Also we do not have any obligation to answer your question, a bit more etiquette would be appreciated. V
  17. Can't believe the dealer said they can't check the software level because it has no codes......S.M.H....... There were several software updates that were released to correct all kinds of issues and several for low power, although it helped a bit, this model was lazy. Drive it like you stole it. V
  18. Wow just wow. I've seen turbos eating rags, but forgot in the intake??? V
  19. Measure the liner protrusion in two spots opposite of each other. This will give you an idea if the liner is sitting true in the block. V
  20. My apologies for giving false information. Install the seal so the lip is facing the radiator. V
  21. The sensor is on the filter pad close to the engine block. Can you attach a pic so we can see what we are dealing with? V
  22. You may have a light bulb that may of fell in behind the dash for the check engine light and its burned out. In order for the speedo sensor to go inactive, you have to drive the vehicle. So plug in the old VECU and try that first. AS for the daisy chain, can't help there. Let us know what you find. V
