  3. sure hope this one like others have a follow up with results.
  4. possible for a little more history on this unit ?? hasn't run in yrs/ have been having fuel problems / etc .. see it listed in fire apparatus. this is a fire unit .runs rough and getting it ready for parade season ??? if the filters fuel is black smells like varnish I would think the fuel tank(s) need a flushing/ cleaning also.
  5. definitely have moved yet don't look to be walking based on dirt covered no signs of shiny metal
  6. center bolts broken?? while wearing safety glasses did you take a sledgehammer and wail the spring leaves back straight ??
  7. can you remember when as a youngster you had respect for the president of U S A and wanted to be one when you grew up. he was your hero << now this is an age appropriate questions ;;you youngster's don't qualify to vote unless accompanied with adult (someone over 70) LOL🤣
  8. remember them well .don't know how I missed these post. HI-Ho is (was) a CT fleet
  9. knew I should have finished at least one coffee before logging on early. the brain cells are scrambling to try and think. had one customer having a super and it wasn't maxi. dog silver. have to ponder this ??
  10. from day one that ground bar in pump for dynatard was a cluster f==k . if they did last longer than a small number of uses , they wore out fast. I like the modification to grounding dynatard ; could call it a "redneck nitrous switch" LOL
  11. was that car a joke or made for his song?? can't really say it's JC behind the wheel ; a look a like for picture ??
  12. years later, still kicking my ass for throwing out ALL the brand new Detroit diesel parts I had. new cyl kits. turbo, blowers. etc thanks to age of computers ; all the brand new N65/N75 injectors I wanted to GIVE to manager at service dept at local international dealer (knew him well), he couldn't take = had no way to show on inventory (computer) when they were bought. can't sell something computer said they didn't have. at the farm I hang out at was a Mack transmission ( 10 speed ? ) .was going to take it before it was gone. went back last week ; it's gone either buried or scrapped. complete bell housing/ mounts . trying not to pack rat.
  13. I have always been a firm believer in the repurpose technic. the newer generation seems to have the =throw it away and buy new=' nope ... have been called pack rat on a number of occasions. comical how it seems the ones calling me pack rat are the ones knocking on the door asking "hey you have such and such , its late stores are closed ;LOL
  14. was wondering about the silver dog on hood ; looked at all 49 pictures , can see why, not maxi.
  15. if mechanically sound; doesn't look to need a lot . better to see it "all natural" then hiding under paint job. fact it's so weathered could be a sign of neglected maintenance.
  16. that method worked for Johnny Cash also;; he got it one piece at a time!!🤣🤣 LOL
  17. might not be 5 physically ; can't say the same for mentally. didn't have to change the rest room signs when a 5 yr old pretended either.
  18. You knew it was natural asper;;no turbo == YOU were checking to see how many were paying attention to the pictures LMAO
  19. ever notice most pictures of "future beings/ grays "they all look the same ; no male/ female stuff. like the generation before:: the Beatles and others with long hair were the "end of the world" . NOT defending any one or thing. at my age don't expect to be here to see much more of these changes . some of the "people" walking around in todays world match the creatures shown on star trex/ and other space shows. LOL👹🤡
  20. the Clydesdales also had heated walkin swimming pools . and a cozy ride to Florida every winter in their own custom trailers.
  21. sure glad there was a clarification on the LTL 😁 didn't remember the H having that dash or shifters in that location. last experience with an H was when it was being tow started dead of winter, twin stick duplex . I had the H . short version ; wrecker stopped H ( me) didn't.. no build up of air / hand brake didn't work. let clutch out to stop as wrecker tow bar closed in . aux not in gear. that little bubble on front nose made contact with 2 in steel plate. from then on NO towing with out air in tanks and wrecker tow bar at bumper height.
  22. how fortunate You are to have a member of the younger generation so interested in old iron and history.
  23. good to hear you have a second truck to build (donor ) LOL . a P&W couldn't have been run too hard just age factor.
  24. I'm in watertown CT ;retired. no guarantee I'd be around , appointments now and then but could try to if you need a hand with the move send me a message ::: date/ time.
  25. I noticed the shift:: mono/ uni shift. B61 wrecker waterbury Mack used had the monoshift.
