  1. If we don’t use the top end off the old engine, our goal is to either part it out or fix the block/replace it so we can either sell it or put the truck back to its original state. If we do use the top end off the old motor then we’ll probably just part out everything not going back into the truck, but who knows what the future has in store for us... The old motor has plenty of excellent parts on it, the carb was just rebuilt, we’ve had all new fuel and water pumps put on it, the entire top end was just rebuilt a little less than a year ago!
  2. The two current plans are: Just do a full swap, either keep the engine to be fixed and put back in the future or just part out the old engine... Or Transplant the freshly rebuilt top end on to the replacement bottom end and then put that in the truck... We’re pretty confident in the new engine because he just spent a bunch of time sorting out the engine before deciding that it was a lost cause trying to bring that truck back and decided to take the frame and body panels and turn it into a diesel rollback. He had a bunch of issues with the tank and the fuel lines as well as the old firebody... he’s had it running recently also...
  3. It was hot water on a sunny day and ran just fine for a while afterwards. And as for the cost... that’s almost exactly why we’ve figured out this engine swap is cheaper! Seriously we’re getting a steal for this motor...
  4. I’m not quite sure myself, I think it’s a crack all the way through, and it’s probably the same crack that got patched before we got it... I don’t have any pics yet, I’m getting this info from my dad who had to go over to it today. It seems like a crack that just never got fixed correctly the first time and has subsequently got worse... the outer water jacket has been cracked for years though, but we almost overheated the motor one time a little while back because she leaked more water out of the radiator than we thought before we took her out for a drive but shut her down and put water on it before the problem got too bad...
  5. Well I’ve got really bad news, there’s a leak in one of the fuel lines, but that pales in comparison to the discovery that the block is cracked... Somewhat luckily the guy we sent it to just ripped an old running 707 out of a junked truck and is more than willing to sell it to us for cheap, problem is that one’s a C motor and ours is a B... anyone know how that conversion works out, and would it be beneficial or possible to retrofit the old top end onto the new bottom? Also looking into finding a new block if it’s cheap enough... Regardless this is going to be pretty expensive, so any tips to minimize the cost and time would be great! Kinda crappy way to start out the new year...
  6. Saw this old dog in a local guy’s scrap heap a few months ago, has Vehicle Development Lab written on the side. Single axel. Maybe add to the story...
  7. Thanks, it’s been a little while now and we’re still dealing with some of his stuff left behind. As for the truck, the place she’s at now it probably an excellent supplier looking at their parts shed... and the guy said he’s working on one of these at the moment only he’s doing a diesel repower. He actually gave us some tips to try and get her going again before he sent out a tow truck but as you can see that didn’t quite work out...
  8. It’s a fuel issue, it’s getting more than enough air, and spark is perfect... and we took the fuel filter out to find it orange from all the rust, so we’re starting with cleaning out the tank again and then lining it, and going from there...
  9. $400 later and she’s in pretty good hands, these guys have actually worked on similar truck before, a few Bs with 707s, so I'm confident she’s in better hands now...
  10. Took her stranding us on the side of the road to realize who we needed to call so she’ll run right... after a carb rebuild and just about everything we can think of she’s going to place we know specializes in old Macks and will put her back on the road... it’s just a shame it took us so long to figure that out...
  11. Saw this one myself, supposedly the story is the guy filming worked for some company driving this truck, it ended up being sold a bunch of times until he bought it, looked it up, and sure enough it’s the truck he used to drive!
  12. I was really happy when a local Community College was sponsored by Volvo/Mack to have a CDL class, even donated two trucks and two trailers to the program. Then just recently they started a welding course. Pretty great to see! Also from what I’ve read Wyotech is making a comeback thanks to a local guy in Wyoming who ended up taking over and is trying to bring it back to its roots, but that’s just what I’ve heard...
  13. I love seeing people work on their first project vehicles!
  14. These guys basically strip all the truck down to the frame and do a ton of fabrication work. I’d say the price is fair for the work that goes in, it’s just certainly not for everyone. I’m sure many could do something similar for cheaper but it wouldn’t involve everything these guys do. Now that doesn’t mean I’m gonna spend that much on it but for someone who has the kind of money to have such a truck I’m sure it’d be more than worth it to them. Certainly more worth it than so many “supercars” that people aspire to have for some reason that cost many times what this does, especially when I recently saw a $50,000 car beat them in a race... On the other side of the coin, it sounds like they tend to bandaid problems with their vehicles and charge extra, not to mention their projects run behind schedule, as well as the owner harassing anyone of his customers who dare say anything remotely negative about their work. To me sounds like they should stick to building one off, award winning show trucks like these instead of trying to reproduce them. Still I’d love a classic crew cab diesel C10 in the far future, I just love the look of the thing, if just probably have it built by someone else...
  15. I’ve always wanted a classic crew cab dually pickup...
  16. Merry Christmas! This was the view of my driveway this morning on the east coast, Vlad... Unfortunately it’s not ours, my dad just had to pick it up and take it to the FD after it had some work done and stopped by to get some more water to drink. Pretty sweet surprise regardless!
  17. Just stumbled upon this video today, figured I’d spread it a little.
  18. For those that don’t know I’m also looking for one...
  19. He has clearly said it is sold and has even included pictures if it on the trailer on it's way to a new home.
  20. Common misunderstanding, but impeaching an official isn't charging them with a crime, it's having enough evidence to conduct a trial, and limit presidential powers during said trial. Trump is still our president and will continue to be for a while. The senate will now conduct a trial and make a final verdict. Chances are the verdict is not guilty considering you need two-thirds majority senate vote to remove a president and unless there's damning, undeniable evidence against Trump they're not going to get that.
  21. If you could get the VIN number from any of those previous owners you could contact the Mack museum and they’ll have some records on it.
  22. If you look towards the top of the first picture, right above the box truck door, it looks like one of the panels on the semi trailer got knocked through. Maybe a good bit of the cab is inside the trailer.
  23. I wish I did, some cop posted it on Facebook earlier today and that’s how I found it, but I’ve lost the post now. Not many other pictures and the ones that are there are just slightly different versions of the pics I’ve posted here. Nobody so far can figure out how he lived...
  24. Supposedly the driver of the box truck survived this...
  25. But I’d like to argue that at this point there’s now only one... but I’m sure that’ll buff right out!
