  1. The only way to confirm is to drop the pan and pull a couple caps on the main and rods. Like 41 said the bearing should have stamped on back side. It's so hard to know what exactly was done over the years.
  2. http://www.lord.com/products-and-solutions/adhesives/fusor-140141-clear-plastic-bonding-adhesive-(fast)
  3. I've use Fusor 141 plastic repair and aluminum flat stock as a backer. Scuff the back surfaces and aluminum with 24 grit then prep with wax/grease remover. Heat gun activates and helps it set fast. I use Fusor for MR doors, LE doors, and anything plastic interior or exterior.
  4. Until you have to rebuild them. The pivots are difficult to remove. Hollands were simply.
  5. What's the thickness on a "speedy sleave" or "wedding band" for putting on the axle? I've used them before for scored axle tubes. I can't recall the exact thickness
  6. 350 2v had chassis mount coolers. Parted out an 83 r model with that setup.
  7. Agreed, or a Freightliner, both are junk. Volvo just does odd things sometimes. For example, they'll have a 13mm nut head attached to 15mm bolt head. A pinnacle front spring hanger is not serviceable by itself. You have to replace the whole engine crossmember with both spring hangers riveted to it even though the all parts are available by themselves. Rivets yes, like 1/2" rivets are used not hucks.
  8. That's cute. I've repaired some far worse wrecks and brought them back to life. But I did most of the work my self over a couple weeks...
  9. We are currently rerailing and legnthing our 82 Cruiseliner. I set it for a 176" factory wheelbase. It has a Formula 300 Cummins CPL 0471, Fuller RT-11609A, and 4.17 Mack 38k rears. Top speed with 24.5 tires should be 59.75 mph. I don't want to change the rears. I'm pulling the RT and doing a gear placement swap on the shafts to make a RTO with a overdrive of .73. Top speed should be over 75 which is more than fine for highway passing. I'd like to change the CPL to make the governed speed to 2100. I'd also like to get some more power, if possible, without changing injectors and the turbo. Eventually I'd like to squeeze as much out of the 855 even if that includes a out of frame rebuild, injector, turbo, timing change, and whatever else. So cummins guys what CPL do you recommend for now?
  10. Thank you. That would be me. I keep it in Carnegie. Welcome!
  11. Welcome, where you located in Washington?
  12. I serviced and repaired a fleet that ran some fitzgeralds. They were Freightliner Columbia and Corandos, about 6 of them. They were ok. They were all series 60 and 10 spd roadrangers. The problem I ran into was getting parts for the series 60. Fitzgeralds spec'd all of there with ddec 3 and 4 parts. So the serials numbers on the engines didn't mean anything to Detroit. He's warranties were up. I did two heads and some misc. parts. The main complaint with those trucks wasn't related to Fitzgeralds but to the build quality of Freightliner. In my opinion they are cheaply produced and cheap materials.
  13. Loose fitting fuel filter? Cracked filter base?
  14. That's good to hear. Well wishes and prayers sent your way.
  15. Tagged you on Facebook GreenDash but thought I'd posted it here too. http://www.post-gazette.com/topworkplaces2015/2015/08/27/Pittsburgh-s-Top-Workplaces-recognized-for-their-outstanding-work/stories/201508270009
  16. Any pictures of the charge cooler?
  17. Looks like a low pressure or applied switch.
  18. The joint venture sounded like a dud 6 years ago and still does even with the announcement.
  19. This showed up today not sure what for yet. Pretty clean inside and with a 10spd roadranger
  20. Mp's aren't too bad. Aside some small inherent design flaws of using just o-rings for seals that cause some minor fluid leaks they are pretty good. If you get one with the SCR be very mindful of the corrosive nature of DEF when filling the DEF tank. That stuff will corrode aluminum and copper instantly. So it will eat up wiring harnesses and sensors which intern throws codes for the emissions system. MPs have some power I can tell you that.
  21. One of the only good things about Daimler/Freightliner....they have a few plants in the states.
  22. Not sure again if it was posted but another big contract for Mack Defense http://www.mcall.com/news/breaking/mc-mack-defense-truck-contract-20150716-story.html
  23. A couple months late, don't know if it was posted before. http://www.mcall.com/news/local/mc-mack-defense-contract-20150408-story.html
  24. Depends on what type of chamber you have and what kind you can use depending on the type of mounts you have. Post some pictures to determine what type you have.
