There is also Garden Spot frame in Ephrata 717-738-2461 They do most of the work for the local new truck dealers. Some dealers include what they call a "fine tune" package on all their new truck deliveris.

Some of those model designations may be in error. Basically, the evolution of the Granite series goes something like this, CV - the original Granite series, (conventional - vocational) CTP / CTP"B"- updated models for the introduction of the MP7 engine (with no DPF) the "B"designation was a set back front axle GU7 & GU8 - (Granite, ultra low sulphur fuel) the "7" was axle forward, the "8" is axle back. The first digit in the model series generally indicated frame family (except the GU's, which share a common frame family), the early Granites were originally introduced as a "bridge formula" version with a lighter frame, and then later updated with bigger "east coast" frames, the second digit generally indicated engine manufacturer, "1" being Mack engines, and other numbers being vendor engines. and the third digit was number of axles.

Yes I've seen that frame before. There was a small fleet not too far from here that had saved a B75S that was originally a concrete block & brick delivery straight truck. There must have been an option for the heavier frame, maybe part of the B7?S spec vs B7?ST spec.

The U700 was one of a group built for Southeastern Freight Lines from Columbia S.C.. It is a Cummins Super 250 (turbo'd) engine and Fuller 9 speed trans. Yes it does. He had two these Hawthorne trucks for awhile, he drove one of them from his shop in Gap to Gerhart's show and I followed him, and trailered the other one. We trailered both of them back to his place after the show. This one looks looks like it is ready to go to work Monday. I think the other one ended up in the north-central New Jersey area. Paul had a knack for finding that stuff.

Here's a picture of a barn fresh survivor belongong to the Levi Yerger family I took a few years back. We staged some pictures of it for a public auction brochure. The truck ended up in the Dick Best collection. I still have not heard what will happen to the trucks in that collection from Dick's estate.

That truck changed hands several times in recent years. It is an RB, sold new to Brubacher Excavating, It got wrecked, and they sold it to an employee that fixed it and modified an RD hood to fit it. Never did understand why he didn't put an RB hood on it, I think it really hurts the value the way it is. Otherwise, not a bad truck.

For sale in New Holland, Pa. When was the last time you saw another one?

I don't know my Dodge models, but if you're talking about the Bazley truck, Roger Gerhart bought it at the sale, and then sold it to Tom Oehme. As far as I know, he still has it. So the story goes that J. Robert used that truck only to haul coal to his home. It had very low miles, and is very nice.

Hey Ken Just a little reminder when you unhook, assuming your MH is air ride, drop the air out of the suspension (if you want to keep your rear crossmember straight). When you crank the landing gear down on the trailer, keep it about an inch off the ground, and just before you pull out, dump the air on the rear suspension, and pull out real easy.

Nobody was born in the seat, just let common sense prevail, you'll figure it out. I think your tractor and that trailer will make a great combination, mobile man cave!!!

We have a rule here, no pictures=no advice. Seriously, if the guy wants to make it really driver friendly, and he is not offended by using non-Mack components, I would use a Fuller 9 spd., "B" ratio, and gear the rear end up with a single reduction rear in the 4.1 something range. That will give good startability and good road speed. All this stuff should be reasonable and readily available.
