  2. OK guys, in the progress of rebuilding my shutters for my B61, some how i lost one of the little clamp thing that goes in the middle of the shutter strip, Does anyone have one laying around you would like to get rid of, i would gladly work out a deal with you
  3. Thanks, i was thinking about on that line, i just wish i didn,t get rid of the bigger lathe i had, but thats my world
  4. Oh the seal will leak for sure with that much slop, you don,t have to clean up nothing the bearning finds its way on real easy, yes it is on the steering, i know better than put heat on it that was sujested by the hill jack way, i have took two right sides wheels off of 2 b,s in the weeds fight wasp and biars just too find out they was worst than mine
  5. OK guys, here goes, yes after i have everything painted and am putting my front hubs back on, woops hold the wagon, i can,t get the bearnings adjusted just right, after beating the new wheel seals back out i find i have about a .012 wear spot on the bottom of the spindle at the inside bearning, now the ? should i weld it up or have it turned down and put a wear spacer to bring it back to normal, i myself am afraid of the heat from welding it up and turning it back down, of course the bigger lath that i hardler used was just sold and the one that i have won,t turn it, ok experts give me some pointers, thanks
  6. I went to the local army navy store and found a roll of webbing that was the same size of the straps, its green but you can,t tell. the roll about 50 ft long cost me 10 bucks
  7. Wow barry that sure is some show girl you have there, i almost didn,t see the mack behind her
  8. i can under stand it, back in the late 80,s we worked around fairmont at the coal mines, getting equitment in was interesting alot of times, the winter is the best time, you better have tire chains, more than once we would unload rubber tire machines and just road them, a couple of times we did the same with dozers
  9. i always buy high and sell low, maybe i need to buy more at least it keeps the money flowing
  10. i went to cat and got a new one for my cat motor, kind of expensive but worth it
  11. --> QUOTE(Johnny B @ Sep 26 2006, 09:30 AM) ←Hi, folks-- I'm new to the board... The company I work for is getting around to scrapping some old mid-80's Midliners. Before they go, I'd like to salvage the Bulldog ornaments off the noses. The heads of the bolts that secure the dogs' hind paws look like two opposing triangles. Is there a special bit or driver that is required to remove these bolts? What is it called? Thanks for any advice. After working at it for a hr with busted nuckels and broken bits and drill bits i used a sawsaw, but it looks good hanging on the wall
  12. hey guys, on my B i want to take the lubefilter off my 673 and put a spin on in its place, does the filter housing off of a 237 or 300 bolt up or not, the same with the fuel filter which sould be easy i have the block stripped down so now is the time to do it
  13. i have heard that noise before, right before Chi Chyn
  14. it would be hard to tell, but from alot of past experiance, i would say trash from the main took the turbo bearning out, we had a d9g that had a oil problem and cat claims 45 seconds at idle with little or no oil pressure wipes the mains out, also i would check the check valve on the pump if it has one and make sure it didn,t fail
  15. i Would strongly recommend buying new or rebuilt cambers, unless you have ever took apart and fixed them yourself, i have and i still just replaced mine, i took my truck down to the bare frame and started over, i replaced all of the copper lines with plastic, He's right it's not period but hey i am going to use mine
  16. i had one for 8 yrs, i got the truck at a sale for the bed but i ran it until the cab rotted off, the motor got good fuel mileage and ran like a top, i still have it, dumb me got a late model truck with a cat in it and switched the bed over, the 1st trip out it was on the big hook coming home with 2 broken pistons, Mack is not no higher than cat when it comes to parts
  17. i am replacing the rear springs on my B61, I got a spare set when i got my truck. Now the Question, the ones that are on it have a short set of helpers on them that go to the front hanger, the ones that i am putting on does not but are a lot heavier than the ones coming off, Would that cause a problem later on, it does have a dump on it and i am going to use it too, it is a single axle ex tractor with a short dump box on it, also are the round bushings for the hanger bolts still available
  18. Hey Barry , i have just open my box, I orded a pair of Hub caps for my B, They are very nice, i highly liked what i got, Also i ordered two Calendars of the old trucks very nice, Thanks for everything you do to keep the old dogs barking Terry Brock
  19. Hello, i have been into it with just this thing, i am not worried as much about my truck but what can happen, A good freind of mine had a very bad wreck that involved a UPS truck, He had 1 hundred Thousand on the other person, and there attorney,s chain thats not enough
  20. Real Nice,Looks better than new, i have been working on a B61 for 3 years and it doesn,t look as good as the pic with youy standing beside your runing gears
  21. i might be interested, it depends on how much they will cost, i thought about making one, stainless is nice, but hard to work with. i think painted would look more like it would fit in the vintage John Deeres and Macks it doesn,t get any better
